The only question I can answer is;
Webster is at home and is headed for the hot tub.

It has been an exhausting day..and I have two more days just like today planned.

The grand opening/ribbon cutting for my new office is Thursday.

Friday is coming...I'll tell ya what I know then.

Good Lord...it could change by then!

JDH's MySpace may have been undergoing "routine maintenance" yesterday, it's back to normal this morning.

Ernie will be guesting with NOT. Mr. Webster will be guesting with Whiskey Bent.

Rachel Williams is getting slaughtered by Miss Kellie in the current "Clashing Country".

Rachel contacted me and is resigned to the fact, she won't be able to catch up.
Her single "World Famous" is to be released NATIONALLY on Oct.2nd. Rachel begins a whirlwind tour in Nashville later this week after her 21st birthday.

NEW COUNTRY STAR POLL

The VOTE for Kristen Kukta on the front of Cleveland Country Blogspot is a LIVE link. You can vote once an hour. She has been leading for several days. Kristen sent an email thanking us for our support.

As for Clashing Country, I wonder how much the radio station/webmaster "controls" the vote. I sound cynical, but then again, it wouldn't be totally unheard of. We all know radio stations back certain local performers (even though they will deny it from here 'til next year!). Just a thought...no one seems to have a REAL chance against Kellie....... The "landslide" wins are suspect.

LOL at timj's myspace. This guy is so petty. A new viewer would think Lawless was his first "friend" comment. In fact it was Webster, she was his first friend, and only comment for 3 weeks. He deleted her, just like he deletes everything else.
More like a girl than me!

I agree, Kellie always has a head start and the challenger cannot catch up. She and Chris Young came close, then boom she was up 50 or 60 points. Webster said she has the BULL guy in her top 24 so that people can contact him.

10:40 AM

I agree with Web, all the kinks, goofs, and glitches need to addressed before the L clash. wgar supports wgar, they are not interested in helping local talent, unless they can get them for free. I am pretty sure Lawless has not gotton any airtime on wgar.

Funny how one person can speak so much BULL. It was merely an obversation and opinion on MY part which clearly I have a right to "voice". YOU are the idiot if you think a comment on a blog is going to "ruin it for EVERYONE". Unless there is some truth to it which you'd like kept hush-hush. Bottom line, Kellie isn't all that and based on the two songs to listen to last week, Chris Young CLEARLY should have won. I'd venture to say Kellie's fans have been visiting every library in Ashtabula County and beyond to gain access to every computer they can. Now that I think about it, MY original comment was about the radio station - not Kellie's fans. It's GREAT the station wants to showcase local talent. Chris Young is from TN and therefore, NOT local talent. Rachel Williams is from MI; NOT local talent.

1:14 PM

I believe the Clash would mean more between two individuals or bands who are actually "local" to the radio station.

The authority "bull-oney" said:
Do you think CMT contacts the artists for their video Pick or Flick so they can get their fans to stuff the ballot box?

CMT does NOT notify the artists...their record labels and management team are notified.

We are NOT talking CMT...we are talking about new artists vying for airplay. NOT established NATIONAL artists.

GAC DOES notify it's artists. The Poverty Neck Hillbillies are currently campaigning for their video, I will post their plea for votes later.

YOU are clearly NOT informed enough to be calling anyone an idiot.

We are NOT idiots...we are concerned that Miss Kellie has an unfair advantage. She and her team are READY to go, she has a well organized campaign orchestrated to WIN. Her "blog" informs voters how to get around the one vote per computer.
Let's say for conversational purposes that Miss Kellie was slaughtering one of the "L" bands...would we still be idiots?
We want all the "bull" worked out before the "L" clash.

GET PNH TO NUMBER 1 ON GAC'S TOP 20!
Thank you soo much for voting for PNH on GAC's top 20! PNH ended up on the ..2 spot last Friday! This is HUGE for PNH! What a breakthrough, and guess what.. you guys did it!!! The show will also re-air, bellow is some info on that.

Amazing work, I am proud of what is turning into a very powerful team of dedicated fans. You guys did great last week, so lets keep it up! Lets get these guys to the ..1 spot on GAC's top 20! This should be very easy for us to do, take this link and vote EVERYDAY. Tell your friends to vote EVERYDAY, tell their friends to vote EVERYDAY, post bulletins, put it in your away messages, call your grandma, do it all! This is huge!!!!!

Thanks again guys, you rock!

NOW...how would they get to number one if NO ONE that would vote for them knew they were in such a contest.

Good Morning...

First things first
The JDH MySpace blip earlier this week. NOT SURE...his space may have been "hijacked" for the day.
Yesterday, both Mr. Webster and I received a Tabloid Twanger invitation to MySpace. First...YOU have to really search to find the Tabloid Twangers on MySpace. It's NOT there under Tabloid Twangers. I did an email search and found Mattie's MySpace.
Coincidently...Mattie's space has SIGNIFICANT similarities to JDH's "weird" day. Also the invitation asks YOU to join MySpace...I belong, so naturally I would NOT fill out the information again...seems odd to me. I have sent an email to the Tabloid Twangers to confirm????
CAUTION: If you have received the email, DELETE it. When I hear from the Tabloid Twangers I will update.

Whiskey Bent
Another implosion last night! Mr. Webster was there...it must be true, so was timj.

timj will dispute/distort
EVERYTHING/ANYTHING I say...why would he change his behavior NOW?
Doubt he has had an epiphany!

SO...
Guitarist Chris went MIA after the first set...apparently passed out in his car. Same guitarist that had a melt down a week or so ago and QUIT. Same guitarist that called Brian and fired him over the phone...must be the guitarist that owns the PA. Same guitarist that QUIT again last night.

BTW, Whiskey Bent is at the Sly Fox tonight. I had planned to go...hmmmmm, that would be in direct conflict with avoiding timj the rest of my life per his request.

it has turned into a ballot box stuffing thing. I suspect Rachel the challenger is getting plenty of votes, yet cannot get past 5 percent. Really, how many people even know about the clashing country to keep one person at 95 percent every time.

12:34 PM
Blogger simon said...

Let me get this straight
bull*** you can compare a small town country station to CMT, but Webster cannot compare to GAC.
When was the last time wgar gave a local artist airplay? You are grasping at straws. Who are you afraid it's going to get ruined for?

12:40 PM
Blogger Molly said...

Eddie's the only "local" that I've seen on Clashing Country so far. The "Ls" have't been there yet so I didn't mention them. For the most part, the challengers have been bigger names but yet they can't catch up to Kellie? There is something definitely OFF about the voting procedure. Again, the "landslide" wins are suspect. If the outcomes were closer, no one would have even noticed them "stuffing the ballot box".

I personally have NOT contacted 98.3 THE BULL about the results of the current "clashing country".
NOTE: I have made 98.3 THE BULL accessible to 2000 artists and thousands of country music fans to find/friend.

GOOD LORD...A new clash is less than a day away?
SOMETIME on Monday...right?
WHAT THE HELL TIME DOES IT START?
I mean IT... I want to know the EXACT flippen time.
Don't YOU?
Both the "L" camps are praying they don't have to go up against Miss Kellie!
NOT everyone is as hip on the "L" clash as the Cleveland Country Blogspot executive committee. The fans want an "L" clash. The foes want an "L" clash. Webster wants THE BULL to fix the "bull".

Rachel Williams was in 98.3 THE Bull's TOP 24 and has NOT broke the 5.5% margin. Rachel is the better vocalist...period.
A 98.3 THE BULL win would have been chocolate fudge mocha icing on her cake at her 21st birthday bash in Nashville.
Her dream is within her grasp....The 98.3 THE BULL "bull" did NOT rain her parade!

Can't say the same for the next CHALLENGER.

I agree that WGAR SHOULD be a promoter of local talent...they Aren't, nor do I believe they are going to start. The closest they have come is Hometown Heroes.

77 South has a sweet gig, however that came from Trev/WTAM.
WGAR promotes per paid customer ad/air time.

Lawless has done their fair share of grunt work for WGAR...have ya heard Lawless in the rotation on WGAR?
NO...you have NOT.
NOR are you going to.
You MIGHT occasionally hear a Lawless snippet during a venue paid promotion.

Requests to WGAR fall on deaf ears...ask the people they have written/called.
I personally dislike and frequently avoid promoting WGAR as a radio station to listen to.
The list of reasons gets longer all the time.

My "CLASH" with WGAR started in 2003 over an "on-air" dialogue of the Dixie Chicks. I managed to get through the screener, but was "cut-off" on air when My opinion differed from the majority at the time.....

Of course, 98.3 THE BULL is promoting themselves with "Clashing Country"...however the trade off for indie/unsigned country music artists is worth driving traffic to their station.

Clashing Country

Its dounut Joe...still crabbing about scam and win.
As if that were the ONLY problem with Cleveland's country station.

I have been asking you for months...what should I do with all my scam/win cards?
Just pitch the WGAR one, or ALL of them? I like my free cup of joe at Starbucks, my discounted gasoline, free Subway, 25% discount at GNC on Mondays, and countless valuable coupons/gifts.

It is ironic that my WGAR scam/win card gets me discounts...and I don't have to listen to their station or their pointless right wing rhetoric.

You are listening to the station...I am NOT.
Otherwise, how could you make the following statement?

Don't think I claimed or anyone else claimed they were hip to "Clashing Country".

In fact...quite the contrary.
We are all STILL trying to figure out how a mediocre female vocalist has "slaughtered" every competitor.

We have identified potential improprieties in the "one vote per computer" rule.

In addition, there is confusion about only "local" (listening audience) votes being awarded to competitors.

OK...I'll throw it out there!
How does ANYONE determine what is a "local" vote.

Let's say there are COMCASTIC votes...most would be identified as generated from Pittsburgh and New Jersey...NOT exactly "local".
AOL subscribers votes would be generated from Virginia...NOT Ashtabula.

Then there is the WHOLE "L" clash...NO ONE IN CLEVELAND is a listener...it's practically impossible.

Glad ya stopped in, next time bring MORE information.

BTW: I was quite sure the "clashers" changed earlier than 4:30 last Monday...more like 2:30.

It's difficult to take the "clash" seriously any longer.

My email to Program Manager

Dear Mr. McCoy,
I am in receipt of responses you have offered to inquries regarding 98.3 The BULL’s “Clashing Country”. Please confirm/deny that you are limiting “votes” to your listening audience. I want to understand and be able to communicate to my readers, and active participants in this promotion.
In addition, how exactly do you determine a local vote? For example Comcast ISP’s are generated from New Jersey and Pittsburgh.
My readers have identified a potential problem with the “one” vote per computer rule.
Are you saying YOU have also identified the “clearing of cookies” that allow multiple votes from the same computer by discarding those votes?

A review of Miss Kellies’ MySpace does NOT reveal a huge fan base. It reveals a mediocre female vocalist from Pittsburgh with an overpriced CD for sale through Pay Pal. It has been my assertion, Miss Kellie has had the “heads-up”…her fans/voters are prepared. This can be confirmed in her blog entries.

The last three challengers were notified by ME. I expect the same this week.

Kellie Lynne’s voters know when, where and what time….clearly an explanation for the “slaughtering” of better indie/unsigned country music artists.

What are my issues, you ask?

First, the “clash” between Kellie Lynne and Rachel Williams should have been more competitive… NOT a flippen landslide.
Second, I desire an explanation of the voting process…whose votes count and whose don't? How you determine what votes count? What is your demographic west of Ashtabula? Please clarify; are you saying you are only counting “clasher” votes from a particular region/locality/listen-capability?
Third, should I stop promoting the “Country Clash” on my blog…we are NOT capable of being “listeners”.
Fourth, we thought we wanted an “L” clash…maybe we don't.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Webster

His response was
What publication do you report for?

Yes...I am still in a snit over the "clash".

35 minutes ago Floyd had 11% of the vote...right now he has 0%...how is that flippen mathematically possible..OK, I am NOT a math whiz.
Right now, Miss Kellie has 100% of the vote. It MUST be that fair and balanced "system" they have at 98.3 to filter out votes.

7:25 PM
Blogger Mrs. Webster said...

OK...I checked with two math whizzes. One source is a PHD at Oberlin College. It is NOT mathematically possible to go from 11% to 0%...the probabilities for statistically possible are pretty remote if I understood everything the professor said.

Curtis Brothers are offering tickets to the CCC event. I will re-post it.

Anybody go to the Afternoon Saloon?
Anybody check out Jeremy Kent?

Laredo has entered myspace...that could be fun. Don't LOOK for Miss Al to jump into the MySpace EXTRAVGANA...he's at his Jungian "friends" experience.

BTW..."readers" both friends/foes of the blog need to utilize a professional tone when we correspond with business associates.
I do NOT want to hear/read one more complaint about one of my readers making untruthful and wild accusations to The Bull. YOU might be a "reader" but you are NOT a "friend".

Let's see what has "clashed" since last evening...

It has been brought to my attention by a very reliable source, that the votes were "reset" sometime yesterday evening, explaining the 11% to 0%.
Apparently, The Bull recognized voting impropriety for Floyd.
The Bull is quick to point out that Kellie lost some votes also.
In addition, a new voting process has been implemented that requires an email address.
I wouldn't know. I had already voted, the screen this morning does NOT allow me to re-cast my vote.
"Clashing Country" is designed for The Bull's listening audience only. If we could hear the station without driving at least 50 miles EAST...we would be better informed country music fans. As far as the Kellie landslides...the station cannot help it that their listeners are deaf.

8:57 AM
Blogger Molly said...

Good morning to all! Floyd is up to a whopping 4% as of this AM. I just voted and before the vote is counted, you need to reply to an e-mail from the radio station. All of this could have been avoided if Kellie's fans would have just played by the rules and voted once, as the radio station wanted. Her handful of fans voting over and over and over didn't think anyone would catch on?

9:36 AM
Blogger Molly said...

Kellie's fans will figure out a way around the e-mail requirement as well. It's too easy and I'm sure they've already figured it out. In any event, it is my personal opinion that all previous "wins" should be thrown out. She didn't win fairly. Also, the challengers should be given another chance should they wish to be included in this BULL any longer than necessary.

11:59 AM
Blogger Molly said...

Again, Kellie just isn't that good to win by a landslide every week. She and/or her fans should have kept the scores a bit closer so it wouldn't be so obvious what was going on.

Check this-I voted for Floyd at approximately 9 AM today. It is 12:45 PM and I still haven't received an e-mail. My vote hasn't been validated or counted yet. Guess I'm not "local" enough.

I could NOT be more delighted that our readers influenced a change in policy at THE BULL. At the very least there is something other than human judgement in place to help curb documented voter fraud. Future "clashers" should be thankful...most are!

Bull-oney, you are SO full of crap. It is now 24 hours after I placed a vote with a valid e-mail address and I have yet to receive an e-mail from the BULL. Apparently, my vote doesn't matter OR I didn't vote for the person the station wanted me to. THAT is b.s. And for the record, I believe I am the person that first inquired as to the validity and fairness of Clashing Country. Thank goodness Webster has run with that and dug a little deeper. Why would either of the "L" bands, or anyone else from this area, even want to be included in a Clash when their own fans votes most likely will not be counted? It is extremely clear to me that the only "local" votes being counted are those that are coming from the far east. I'm not saying that the Cleveland bands don't have fans out there, but I would venture to say that the MAJORITY are from the Cleveland area.

I will attempt to vote again using another one of my e-mail addresses. Let's see if my second vote gets counted.

Bull-oney

Let's see...your first visit ya called us idiots, and proceeded to enlighten us with your "insider" knowledge, and openly fret about ruining the whole thing.
Ruin what for who???

Ya stopped in again to compare this BULL contest to CMT. PLEASSSSSSSSE! BTW: I told you then that CMT notifies the label/artist management. They in-turn notify the fans. Currently, there is massive email campaign by artists for the CMT wildcard slot.

Your next visit you questioned how "hip" we are to the all THE BULL.
The information YOU provided was NOT exactly correct and was in direct conflict with other documented information.
It would be speculatation if I said the delay this past Monday was due to implementing some degree of "voter-fraud" detection.
Your assertion that the BULL contest was NOT a ballot box stuffing spree was INCORRECT.

Yesterday...you questioned the inconvenience of voting. How inconvenient is it to vote ONCE?

Initially, I had NOT intended to contact THE BULL...however, it became clear that people were receiving conflicting information from the same person.
The question of how THE BULL determines a "local" vote is STILL unanswered.
In my spirited email exchange with Mr. McCoy, I did forget to ask how Kellie knew she was going to "clash".
My last correspondence with Mr. McCoy, I indicated; I understand market share, misunderstood the concept of the "clash", and that I was confident he meant well. Given the emails Mr. McCoy has received about the "clashes"...mine was pretty tame.

Today, Bulloney...you have had too much water.
BANNED by WGAR...LOL!
I chose NOT to listen to WGAR.
PERIOD. My fondness for THE BULL has wained....the contest is about THE BULL. PERIOD.

I believe I have a direct quote from the THE BULL station manager that does NOT say OFF THE RECORD that can confirm that statement.

"A Pile of Bull"
The bull complaints keep piling up. Molly is NOT the only reader complaining about their vote NOT being validated.

I have NO desire to initiate another conversation with the manager of the bull.

I am NOT familiar with the email registration/validation process. I did not try to cast another ballot after the vote was "reset".
Kellie will be crowned champion of the bull.

Thinking out loud...it probably was a GOOD thing we lobbied for an "L" clash. Otherwise, it could have been one of the "L" bands being slaughtered instead of poor Floyd.

If the unpublished bull guidelines/concepts are applied to the "L" clash...it is doubtful that a majority of the fan base will be eligible to cast ballots or what weight they will be given. It is the the bull demographic that matters.

Ziggy, Ziggy, Ziggy:

You really are a pathetic person. A waste of space so to speak. Two members leave HL so therefore, a band doesn't exist? If I'm not mistaken, Laredo recently had two new members in their band. You had nothing to say about that though, did you? Of course NOT, it's only HL you have a problem with. I'm NOT HL's spokesperson but yet when I point out facts, you have a problem with the truth. There is counseling out there for that, ya know. Dirk left HL for a valid reason - not a problem with Jim. Eddie left for his own reasons, one of which was NOT Jim. At least that's what he conveyed to me. You obviously get pleasure thinking Jim is screwing up his band, yet again. Move on, honey. Everyone else has...why continue to dwell on something that does NOT concern you?

North of Texas was an established band before they were kind enough to help out HL by filling in for gigs. How in the world are they using "Heartland to get somewhere else"? Just decent people helping out a fellow band. Don't you wish YOU were that decent? I have very little faith THAT will ever happen but at least you're good for a great laugh on a Monday morning! Small-minded, mean-spirited people are SO sad, but funny in an odd kind of way.

10:29 AM
Blogger Molly said...

Ignorance is bliss, so you must be in heaven, Ziggy.

In the latest version of HL, Dirk & Eddie left. NOT sure which 4 or 5 you are talking about. However, you're latest posts seem to be making fun of people kind enough to help a band out.

Yep, others have USED HL to go on to other ventures. The latest was WB and ummm, look how GREAT they're doing at the moment. LOL

I suppose I'll take the first step in moving on....How ABOUT those WB boys? ROFLMAO.....

Does anyone know who will be the challenger in the new Clash? Haven't heard of an "L" band taking themselves out of the running but maybe they ought to. The Clash is a scam to boost Kellie's ego, it seems. There doesn't seem to be too much legitimate about the whole thing.

With Monday comes a new "clash", an earlier "clash" than last week.

Here it is boys and girls;
Cleveland Country Blogspot unequivocally supports Lawless in this "clash". With that said, listen to the wise feathered woman.

Do NOT try to get around the one vote per computer system by clearing cookies. ISP's are recorded, and I imagine that email addresses are being audited to some degree. Votes will be thrown out and scores will be reset. Remember poor Floyd...dropped to ZERO from 11%.

Let me go cast my ballot!

The tension is in the air..."campers" are angry that the Cleveland country fans and the Cleveland Country Blogspot readers demanded an "L" clash. Initially, "campers" and bull-oney were pi@@ed when I identified/contacted/bitched/moaned/whined the "bull". Both the "L"s should be grateful they weren't involved in that Miss Kellie bull.
Quite honestly, if you are saying/thinking anything different...I would be OK with calling you a liar.

OK...I am thinking it is NOT necessary to link anyone here to there right this minute.
Ya all have the link saved, and ya all should have voted...once.

Critical thinkers are discussing;
Which song is more radio ready?
Which song had the best post production?
Which song does Ashtabula like?
Which band has played in that market?
How many fans do I already have in that market?
How many fans can I contact to vote?
How can I keep my fans from the temptation of cheating.

Blue Plate - JB is the underlying factor in EVERY post about HL and what others construe as the band's issues/problems/muscicians leaving, etc. Ziggy didn't have to SAY anything about JB...it was implied as it has been since day ONE of this blog. The unwavering lack of support for HL, as a local band, never ceases to amaze me. Of course, I'm mostly talking about so called "fans" in Cleveland. I know quite a few of the musicians and for the MOST part, they are all supportive of each other. Blue Plate, you are either new to the blog or back with a new screen name. There have been NO real accusations of voter fraud in the "L" clash to my knowledge. There has been a valid concern over confirmation of votes, however, any voter can contact the station to "check". A personal email from the station manager will be sent to confirm a vote.

Justen - the "single" was never "released". The story behind WQMX is as follows:

WQMX (specifically "Charlie" the overnight personality)was given the CD, "Long Gone" by a fan of the band. That fan called Charlie 2 weeks after giving him the CD and asked him to play "The Hard Way" because it was that fans favorite cut. Charlie obliged said fan at 3am. WQMX's music director then took said CD and put it in the pile for the Rate-A-Record segment. "The Hard Way" scored a 95% approval rating. People called and requested the song after and it was played a few times. All of this happened without one phone call or e-mail from us asking them to do anything for us.

LMAO - Your hearing must absoluelty suck. I could list for you at least 20 singers in the last 10 to 15 years in the country genre who are "nasally" and have scored multiple hits. Oh and I forgot to mention some of the most heralded artists in music history as well.

I beg of all you detractors to please come at me with something more than childish jiborish and rhetoric. Facts and opinions from people with years in this industry will always carry more weight than some spurned, jealous wanna-be's. This is the precise reason I quit posting here in the first place, and it only took 2 idiots to make me decide to just stick to reading.

Ya all crack me up!
Good Lord...we are coming down to the wire on the "L" clash.
The "rhetoric" is at a scarlet fever temperature.

ME: I have very strong opinions, observations, about who should have won, why the winner won...
Cleveland Countryblog Spot supported thee "L" clash.

NOT everyone was wild about an "L" clash...they could have started their own campaign against it!
Ya both got radio air play to start. Only one of "L"'s is worthy...but who is ready?

Rachel Williams was worthy and ready, looked what happened to her.
Miss Kellie might survive in THE BULL 98.3 archives the rest of her life...but she will NOT be played forever.

There are thousands of female vocalists just like Miss Kellie, and at least 1000 female vocalists I have heard that are BETTER! Packaging counts.

Miss Kellie has/had regional appeal/recognition/voters through her 5 September appearances with the Cleveland/Nashville based indie label "Rust Records", signed artist, Poverty Neck Hillbillies.

NoMad also supported Miss Kellie.
BTW: I love NoMad, even if they are from Pittspuke.
Cassandra rocks!

Miss Kellie and her band "The Kellie Lynne Band"...no question who owns the PA in this arrangement...is very popular with college age voters, 14-108 YO men, and tweens. We know she bent the rules...and a new vote/audit system was put into place before the "L" clash.

Cleveland Country Blogspot readers have been advised over and over again to resist the temptation to fraudulently vote.

The "L" clash has been competitive, sparked critical thinking, and a boat load of rhetoric is floating on the ERIE.

We can only hope WGAR has been paying attention to how much attention/traffic/email/hits a sister station has reaped by engaging the local country music artists and their fans in a meaningful and interactive fashion.

The "L" clash will continue in Cleveland...until one of ya move beyond Cleveland.
