A is for Alabama
Country music's "Band of the Century" For the 20th century.
40 number 1 hits...so far
The band that brought back harmonies along with musicianship.
Randy Owen, Teddy Gentry, Jeff Cook, & Mark Hendron. The ultimate 4 piece country band!

My "A" starts with American Idol.
The Z is Ziggy.
B to Y is everybody and everything.
Which letter do you think I should start with?

Always start with A.
Cleveland country A number 1:
American Sound Review-
Gail Faught, Mike Romeo, & Robbie King. The band ALL Cleveland harmony is measured against. For many years they were the house band through the week at the Band Box, playing weekends every other month alternating with Sundown.

I can't think of anymore Cleveland A's.....who's next?

B is for.....bars!
The B&R on Storer Avenue where I started my illustious country career. Hugr dance floor (before line dancers!) seats for 300, the world's greatest bartender JIM, and some of the finest musicians in town. Roger Martin, Roger Wilhoit, the Band of Gold (with Gail Faught) and the place I met my first wife!
B also is for Bonnie & Clyde's (Nos. 1 & 2) where a down and out musician could always find a sandwich and a pack of smokes for a couple hours jamming!
The Band Box...where I came into my prime! Finally I was a Brookpark Road musician, not a Storer Ave. stumble-bum! Adolph & Lucille where two of the best owners I've ever worked for, and there have been a LOT of owners over the years!

Now, B is for Backwoods, brothers, and bandmates! All at the same time!

5:41 PM
Blogger Mr. Webster said...

For me, Foot, B is bringing back memories. You have stirred up many an old time about the bars.
The B&R was special. You knew it was serious country when you saw Ricky Schroder up there. The benefits were so much fun! I remember we were the last to jam with Roger Martin at the B&R. He was cool!
The Bandbox was Rosie's by my time.
Remember the Touch of Gold?
How about Finn's Cafe?

MY A

A is for American Idol.
We disagreed about the winner. I suggested he back off the elitist attitude, and remember where he came from. Look for updates on my girl Kellie, and the grey man with soul.

A is for Anonymity. Again...we disagreed. I shared my rationale, and explained how it changed established relationships. Lack of anonymity did NOT change the flow of information...quite the contrary.

ACE's...We agreed. This is an "A" place for Cleveland Country music.

Foot's A...Alabama was an AWESOME choice! I couldn't agree more.

JDH's A...Anticipation.
I will afford him the same courtesy and let him choose his own words.

Mr. Webster's A
Honey...we need to talk!

HL are you calling Webster a SNOB?? *glaring*

10:34 AM
Blogger tobykeithfan said...

HL FAN
I truly believe you are not a real HL fan. It is my opinion that you are just someone adding fuel to the fire to get everyone pissed off at HL again. Go away and do your dirty work elsewhere.

10:51 AM
Blogger Nakkedmonkey said...

HL they both have very good reason to do that.. so what.. but if your going to hide behind that name and call someone a SNOB your a coward!

11:05 AM
Blogger Molly said...

Well, I don't think they have reason STILL to bash HL as everyone seems to have done it over and over and it's old news about things that happened years ago. Everyone gets that some people can't get over their hatred and they just bash now to get their own jollies off. But, as Naked said, so what? It's all about freedom of speech.

11:27 AM
Blogger Nakkedmonkey said...

HL is just trying to light a match under them thats all..

11:32 AM
Blogger Molly said...

So, who all is showing up for Bloggers' Night Out? I don't have a "Who Cares About Your Blog" pin...will I still be admitted?
:-) So far, I haven't heard about any last minute school things going on so I plan to be there.....

11:34 AM
Blogger Molly said...

Yeah, I see that. Life's too short, HL Fan. Move on to something more constructive...what you're trying to do has been done before....

11:35 AM
Blogger simon said...

Jolly Molly
There would be nothing to bash, if B is for Buck would undergo some dramatic behavior modifcation, or maybe a root canal will help.

11:36 AM
Blogger Molly said...

Frankley, when was the last time you actually had a conversation with Jim? 1, 2, 3 years ago? Seen the band? 1, 2, 3 years ago? Move on, get over it, get a life! We all get you (and the majority of others) don't care for the guy? Why do you feel that it needs to be said 1000 times? I know I got it after the first 100. Do you hold all your grudges this long? If someone (anyone) has "done you wrong" in the past, does that person deserve to be bashed and belittled by you until the day they die? Does your profile reveal you as actually being GOD?

11:46 AM
Blogger tobykeithfan said...

You fired the starter pistol.
Let it go.

Blogger tobykeithfan said...

So apparently Jim has a personality problem. Alot of people do. Big Deal. I know him and I take what he says with a grain of salt. He's not really a bad guy. He just has alot on his shoulders. Some people let stuff roll off their backs and others take it personal. If you would sit down and talk to him you would see that he is just a guy.........

11:54 AM
Blogger simon said...

Pleeaaaaaaaaaaase excuse me from the table. I am overcome with nasusa.

12:00 PM
Blogger Molly said...

TobyKeithFan, I guess Frankley and others have never pi**ed someone off. They've never been given a second (or third) chance so they're unwilling to be open-minded. They just bash to make themselves feel better and because they can't think of anything relevant to the current year to say. Living in the past is for losers. Yesterday (and last year) is gone. Look forward...don't dwell on the past.

It is my opinion that Frankley Speaking and HL Fan are one and the same person. Just doing what most do....their lives are so miserable they have to start crap on this blog. It has been kind of quiet lately and I understand wanting to get the conversation flowing again. Too bad he/she couldn't think of something new.

You are so correct. We have all pissed someone off at one time or another. I have been pissed off more than once. I got over it. Life is too short. I have better things to do that require my health not be affected by some a**hole.

12:11 PM
Blogger tobykeithfan said...

Frankley
I don't know what your problem is, but I'll bet it's hard to pronounce.

12:12 PM
Blogger Molly said...

TKFan, he/she/it has the condition of having such a small mind, nothing new can penetrate it because there is no room for anything other than old hatred. I, too, judge people only on the "wrongs" they have committed in the past. NOT!

12:22 PM

Sorry about that, Todd. Today, "K" is for Kassie! Love that spelling and I'm sure she's beautiful.

B is for beautiful, as I am sure Kassie is! Babies are wonderful. I have a 10 month old grandson, who is also beautiful, and another grandchild due in November, who will also be beautiful !!
BTW Todd. You were great on Sunday! Thanks for the hat !

JDH, I hope that you were "pleasantly" surprised! lol As a friend of Jim's, I don't think he is trying to change the public's perception of him because I truly don't think he cares what anyone thinks of him. As you have said in the past about yourself. It is my opinion that whatever was said to you by him was indeed sincere. However, people will take whatever is said to them in their own way. At least you were man enough to listen.

I can only imagine how you guys felt playing in that heat!!! I got there very late and it was terrible just sitting there watching!

3:25 PM
Blogger tobykeithfan said...

JDH,
I was pleasantly surprised to see you and Jim chatting. Molly will agree, Jim says whats on his mind and I am sure he was sincere in what he had to say to you. I enjoyed watching you play and loved seeing Don run around the stage. And Ernies smile is always nice to see. Got lots of pictures. But boy did I get a sunburn!!!

Thanks for the Ziggy ecard.

I agree, at the rate we are going we will not get to (Z) for months. ME...I am still on B.

Your identity remains a mystery. GOOD FOR YOU! Obviously, ya haven't blabbed it to ANYONE.

Ziggy has been with us from the beginning. He can best be described as a "shared fan". A fan of Cleveland country and to some extent a fan of Mr. Webster. I suspect his presence whenever a mystery glass of Merlot shows up. He must tip well, the servers never point or tell.
To the best of my knowledge, Ziggy and I have not spoken in the past year.
Ziggy is the first blogger, JDH asked about.
I had credited Ziggy for coining the term "sless". Turns out...I was wrong.
The first blogger to use "sless" was nakkedmonkey. My favorite phrase from Ziggy...I AM saving for Z!

Blogger Mrs. Webster said...

Michael

Mr. Webster and I are very fond of you. We respect your support of Cleveland country. Please utilize discretion in your conversations with "shared interests". First...the blog/email network is huge.
Second...misinformation and misinterpretation takes up "way toooooo much of my time".
Third...you are being "baited". FYI: your naivety/pleasant disposition is being exploited.
Fourth...Mr. Webster has NO intention of abandoning the BLUES or Swamp.

Perhaps I am a snob. JDH is not my "golden boy". My "golden boy" is a blonde, blue eyed, 6'8", 24 YO, first born, overachiever, with a brilliant career ahead of him. His only fault is the Vandy girl.
My planned post regarding "Cleveland Buck" in the context of words exchanged between myself and JDH was...we agreed.

frankley speaking
The root canal was hysterical. We will NOT be featuring CCF today. It would be best that when you become nauseated, you not share.

hl fan and frankley speaking are NOT the same person.

Has the Last Chance Saloon had its last chance?

I have seen my fair share of announcements that it is under new ownership touting "back and better than ever"...and there is always a story about someone climbing over the bar and grabbing the liquor license.

New ownership probably means new management, regardless... whomever the new party is they do not own the building, which to most observers is rotting away in a near blighted neighborhood. Serious capital is needed to renovate and make the establishment safe.

Just ask the ladies about the middle bathroom stall. Months ago the basement was visible through the bathroom floor. A sign read out of order...it should have read DANGER!

For conversational purposes, lets say a larger big boned female could have vanished into the saloon's bowels trying make room for more beer in her body.

Line dancers as well as free stylers and Larry should have wondered if stomping on loose, water damaged and splintered floor boards was such a bright idea.

The Last Chance Saloon is located in a last chance neighborhood. Have you ever driven there in the daylight? You are sharing your evening with the people you just locked your doors over.

The parking lot was usually full of cars...however it doesn't appear that the drivers made the walk to the well. Must have been the commuters. Cars have been damaged, stolen, re-poed, and towed all in one weekend.

Petty people committed petty crimes. Fist fighting was a sport, and domestic violence was tolerated. Vomiting, urinating and defecating weren't always out of the view of visitors.

The Last Chance Saloon has seen great talent, great dancers and great crowds...and it's fair share of mediocrity.

The Last Chance Saloon was competing with Fat Boys and LOST.

Chances are it will be resurrected again...perhaps it is better off a memory.

At one time, I had 6 or 7 different brands of dry food in the house just trying to find something he wouldn't puke up. I've given up...I just give a little at a time several times a day. Either he's eating too much at once and getting sick or he hates everything. But, I figured he'll eat it and keep it down when he's hungry enough. Mine was the only pet in the house for a couple of years but we got a baby ferret a couple weeks ago. Believe me, the cat is not happy! He'll have to get over it though. I had a cat years ago though that would sleep under the covers with his head on the pillow next to me. It was too cute.

We are now officially OFF Cleveland country music. Oops.

We had a GROOVY night last night.
Sheehan's turned out to be a fab venue. They loved Swamp. Great diverse crowd, and country on the jukebox.

North of Texas 's lead guitar stopped out. Yep, we have common ground...Ernie. My second favorite bass players ears should have ringing.

Mr.Webster traipsed down to Fat Boy's on a break to see Backwoods/Foot. ME...I declined. I am standing my ground on Fat Boy's.

Breakfast was a hoot. Good Lord... nearly had me a throw down over the Dixie Chicks.
More than my table heard,"64% of country disagrees".

We ran into country fans, friends, and musicians.
Whiskey Bent's drummer cheerfully accepted a "NO one cares about your blog" pin.
Dare ya to wear it!

An "FM" begged for the blog's address...he wrote it down on his arm. He swore that the blog is as large of a thorn as the "L" band.

Tonight...is still up in the air. Mr. Webster has an early gig at Legacy Village. Our eclectic east side friends aren't interested in digging out their passports for country. We don't need passports...we have stickers on the car.
