Hi Everyone -

The Curtis Brothers Band is back to a full schedule starting Thursday, 8/31, at the Sly Fox. Show starts at 9:00 PM.

On Friday Sept. 1st, the band returns to Cleveland's
hottest country music venues - Ace's Bar and Grille.
Show starts at 9:00 PM.

Saturday Sept. 2nd, the band will be at "Image's".
Show starts at 9:30.

Hope to see you this weekend to help us kick off our fall schedule.
We have added a few new songs to our playlist during our down time:

Life is a Highway - Rascal Flatts
Billy's Got His Beer Goggles On - Neal McCoy
Live Like You Were Dying - Tim McGraw
Yee Haw - Jake Owens
Your Man - Josh Turner
Breathe - Pink Floyd

The band will continue to update our songlist in the next few months with not only the country favorites, but some rock and dance music as well.

timj, I will tell you the same thing I told "SOMEONE", you can delete all you want. I learned to back up the blog a long time ago.

Your ridiculous emails are safe with me, including the most recent.
It's hard to believe that you would be baited so easily by your "friends"...ya took it, hook line and sinker. Your actions speak louder than your words. Instead of asking, you accused...BOYS will be BOYS.

Ok...here's an update.
Insanity has irrupted. Why am I telling you all? Most of you have watched it simmering most of the day, some of ya added fuel to a fire. Over in testosterone alley you'll find the catalysts.

For the Record
I have routinely rebuffed spreading/forwarding emails around. I distribute oodles of emails, with my own message and content/interpretation.
When YOUR email gets to me...it stops, your email is safe.

The Venus bloggers participated in an informal poll.

NOT for the Blog
The ladies and I have been discussing when and if we can change our minds about NOT for the blog...does it last forever?
One example shared, "off the record" doesn't mean forever...ask Skooter.
The more important discussion/vote was, NOT for the blog is NOT "don't tell anyone" AKA "hush hush".

I'm on the phone constantly in the evening, and during the day for that matter, chatting away between appointments/meetings.
IT was Carrie!
Raise your hand if YOU have heard me say in the past 21 days, hold on, I gotta hook ya into the wall or into the thingy in the car. shhhhhhhh...shouldn't tell.

When EVERYBODY is finished with he said, she said, and the emails with he said, she said, you can get the truth here. The truth takes longer.

YES...Emails exchanged, people must have forwarded; that could possibly explain WHY the alley master is an uproar...

The testosterone ally master is making outlandish accusations, sending ridiculous emails, forwarding my responses to ridiculous emails...it's insane.
CEASE from sending me another email requests have been sent to a select few. Please do NOT violate the request.

Thank you for securing my tickets for the Cleveland Cares event. I think we have solved the logistic and tactical obstacles. Cleveland Country Blogspot would like to donate our 10 Cleveland Cares event tickets to The Curtis Brother's as door prizes, or gifts.
The Cleveland Country Blogspot committee met in executive session and voted to implement this proven business model to promote even more awareness to the Cleveland Cares event.

In addition to the routine visitors from Canada, Australia, and the UK, Cleveland Country Blogspot has had visitors from Portugal, France, Sweden, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Mexico, Spain, Turkey, Ireland, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Peru, Brazil, Israel, Denmark, Slovenia, Japan, and New Zealand beginning @ 11:59 8/31/06. The above visits were at least 1 minute, and recorded a return visit.

Belgium, Taiwan, Morocco, Argentina, Philippines, Uruguay, Singapore, Malaysia, and Chile were more random. Less than 10 seconds, 1 pageload, no return visit.

Things that make ME go hmmmmmmmm...
How can I use this information to advance the blog? Tracking down a handful of local yahoo's would NOT be good utilization of my time.

LAWLESS has been selected by 98.3 THE BULL to compete in Ashtabula's Clashing Country as one of the up and coming artists. Competing against other local country music acts.
A predetermined number of consecutive “WINS” lands the country band in the 98.3 THE BULL’s regular rotation.
Now...wouldn’t it be interesting if LAWLESS goes up against Laredo the first week?

I understood the info on the website to mean that they'll be "showcasing" many different bands, writers or singers. Not sure who this gal is up against Eddie, but if they were to put "L-1" and "L-2" up for the same week, it would be interesting to see the voting results.

12:01 PM

I guess it is a pretty big deal if each week's winner is put in the rotation. I would never have known about it if not for Web mentioning it. Have to keep checking back.

I voted for Eddie because I have a copy of his CD and well....I obviously know him. lol I don't have audio here at work and my computer at home was acting nuts so I never actually listed to the other song. Not sure why Ohio Creek would be up against TK though. Doesn't make sense.

Gotta ask...whynner?
Which band is the BIG L?

The young lady clashing with Eddie Long got a jump start. My impression is Eddie long may NOT have known about the "clash" until after the fact. My opinion, Eddie Long has very few avenues to "get the vote" out. Heartland has NOTHING on their site, to my knowledge there isn't a Nashville Bound site, and a MySpace search produced nill, maybe the testosterone ally blog will link him. Eddie has the rest of the week........

The BIG L and the little l clash. These two bands have been clashing for however long. I LOL about truces and a brotherhood. I see the band members out in public. "NOT wearing nametag". Certain band members are NOT as guarded about the special bond that ties them all together.
I WANT a battle of the two L bands.

10:10 AM
Blogger Molly said...

Big L and little l. I love it! I have my "suspicions" who the BIG L is. I have sent my e-mail request to the station.

Web is correct - Eddie got a late start in the clash. He's pretty far behind. I can't seem to vote a second time from my home or my work computer.

As of right now, I don't believe HL has any intention of changing their name. Why go through the hassle. As for as I know, Kentucky Thunder hasn't had any repercussions so I don't foresee HL having any. As for a line-up change, this time around it's mostly bad luck/timing! One of them also being a relocation of one the guys. Some members are staying though!

Lawless Fans

The gig tomorrow night at The Outpost...apparently someone was NOT paying attention or it is an experiment.

I may be COMPLETELY wrong about The Outpost in Kent.
NOT just anybody can turn a gig at The Outpost into a spa weekend, and prayer/peace vigil at Kent State like Mr. & Mrs. Webster.

Here is what I observed on a recent visit.

Famous since 1970...should explain a great deal.
The outlying tables and booths had NOT had a human being near them in weeks. I drew a heart in the dust. I also sneezed for two days.

The water quality is questionable...funny color/odor.
Stick to bottled beverages. The fountain mix was yucky. The bathrooms are better than Fat Boy's.

My guess, it's been a rock club MOST of the 26 years it has managed to survive.
Maybe with the on-campus housing students at Kent, Lawless could draw a record-breaking crowd.

The Dusty regulars could chose The Outpost over the Armadillo to see Lawless.
The Outpost has NO regulars.
NONE, ZIP, NIL, ZERO regulars. You go to this place on purpose. It is a NOT a destination activity.

The Dusty Armadillo DOMINATES the Kent area "country" music demographic. The DA is NOT promoting Lawless, they are promoting The Curtis Brothers Band.

So...in my opinion, oodles of the “shared” country music fans need to make the trek to KENT. The potential for Lawless to have a miserable night is REAL.

The research for any additional promotion for this club/Lawless has produced NOTHING.

The Outpost could have a full page ad in the Kent Friday magazine for all I know. Radio stations could be promoting the club/band all day. Budweiser could be having a parade. There could be a Lawless frat party planned.
I don't have that information...I am speculating out loud about the regional appeal of Lawless w/o a built in customer base.
The club's website is...well, here is the link The Outpost...NOT band friendly.

BTW, I did NOT call The Outpost and ask them if it was OK that I link them…things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm.

Mr. said, "He said I was a nice guy, but he NEVER EVER wants to speak to me again?"
Mrs. said, "Yes dear, I'll show ya the emails when we get home. Ya know, I did tell timj, it would be difficult for you NOT to say hello".
Mr. said, "Why would he send such a juvenile email?"
Mrs. said, "NOT a 100% sure, it's baffling, he sent one stating I was nice and his friend, then another that said that I let things go for awhile then retaliate.
I think it pushed him over the edge when I asked him to confirm that Laredo tried to recruit him after they announced the lead position was filled."
Mr. said, "Didn't he have YOU call him about that?"
Mrs. said, "yeppers, and something zappers."
SERVER said, "Would you like another margarita?"

I don't have time to "retaliate" every time. Sometimes it takes days and days for me even to get to a particular event/post.
Second...YOU weren't misquoted. I was quoting myself.
Third..."sleezy" was the perfect choice of words.

I am STILL traumatized how that day changed EVERYTHING.
There is NO way possible...I could ever ever forget.
The media has gone insane with "let's remember", "don't forget". GEEZUZ...it's a feeding frenzied contest.
A subdued, humble and peaceful approach would be more palatable, in my opinion.

Y'all knew I would run with it when I found it.
Good Lord...it was a direct challenge! I polled readers, and got feedback from sensible people. We didn't all agree.

A wise feathered woman murmured:
Crabbing about backstabbers, repeating yourself three times and a reference to a bitchy blog is NOT the way to go when you are looking for a JOB. PERIOD!

Quite honestly...I think ya got a raw deal. I was NOT able to listen to either of the "clashers" last week. I voted Cleveland.

This week I heard the Champion. WAY below average. If I would have thought she sounded better...she'd a got my vote. Period.
I MySpaced the Chris Young camp early this morning. His fans should know, his family, his people should know where they can vote for him.
Clearly, Miss Kellie has her campaign together.
The polls are taken very seriously and monitored very closely for demographic trends.
Personally, I am hopeful it leads to a life long pattern of voting.
I don't think Kellie deserves air time. Kristen Kukta does, and could woop the snot out of her, if everyone was poised and ready to vote, knew when and where. We want the "clash" to have the bugs worked out before we get to the petitioned "clash" between the "L's".

I also couldn't listen to either song last week. Hopefully they'll take that into consideration and you'll get another chance, Eddie.

Great job, Web, in your efforts to keep the Clash on the forefront of everyone's mind so when the showdown begins, people will know where to go and what to do.

Blue Moose was the place to be last night, according to Mr. Webster...so it MUST be true!

Mr. Webster had a hoot playing country... now, that hasn't happened for a while.
There was a Cleveland country reunion. I missed it...she sighs.
Mr. Webster, Foot, Frank Dunch, Danny Lawson and JDH...oh and what is left of Whiskey Bent ENTERTAINED.

Whiskey Bent is still standin in theory...NOT a 100% sure who all is standing with Mike and Brian. It's QUITE a tale, embellished several times over by mid-week.

Whiskey Bent will be at ACE's tomorrow night.

We all say and do things in private that should not be aired in the public arena. I hold no ill will towards the other blog or its founding member.

NOT the way I heard it.
"scattering" or gathering" ill-will is ill-advised.

Good Lord…the POPE goes PC to calm the waters.
He quotes documented history and they burn him up in the street. I suppose you could say Mid-East Muslim sects were excercising their freedom of speech.
ME:
it was NOT a gathering of "ole hippies" trying to get their point across.
I listened to moderate American-Muslims this week remark on the Pope’s speech. Thankfully they kept the peace on the homefront. I don’t know why the Pope has to be PC except to keep the peace in European countries. The Roman Catholic Church /Pope advocate PEACE in current modern global history…Amen.

Miss Kellie has demonstrated she has her "Clashing Country" campaign well organized, and orchestrated to win. In addition, her camp has figured out how to manipulate the vote...clearing cookies.

Unfortunately, I was incorrect in my assessment of "local" wannabe. She is a regional artist, with significant exposure, professional packaging, "fan base", sponsors, and a marketing action plan.

What is wrong with this picture?

For Charlene

A "Curious George" was traveling by plane and in urgent need to use the men's room. Each time "George" tried the men's room door, it was "OCCUPIED". The flight attendnat, suggested that he go ahead and use the ladies room, and said do NOT push any of the buttons inside. Making the mistake that so many men make in disregarding the importance of what a woman says, the man let his "curiosity" get the best of him and pushed the buttons anyway.
"George" pressed the first button marked "WW" and immediately warm water sprayed his entire bottom. He thought, "WOW, the women really have it made!" Still "curious", he pressed the button marked "WA" and a gentle breeze of warm air quickly dried his hind quarters. He thought that was out of this world! The button marked "PP" yielded a large powder puff which delicately applied a soft talc to his rear. Naturally "George" couldn't resist the last button marked "ATR". "Curious George" woke up in the hospital. "George" panicked and buzzed for the nurse. When she appeared, "George" cried out, "What happened to me?! The last thing I remember is I was in the ladies room on a business trip!" The nurse replied, "Yes, you were having a grand "curious" time until you pressed the "ATR" button...Automatic Tampon Remover.
Your man "unit" is under your pillow
