In my Ethics 101 class I learned it was not proper to boast about my skills and importance. It is unethical to make false claims. It is not unethical to say, I am from hell, it is unethical to tell others to go to hell. There was lots of discussion about hell; who is going, who is already there. I had to go to the bathroom and missed the part about being brain dead, and just caught the tail end of “raised by monkies”. It is unethical to inflame minority groups. There was no mention of mailmen or cable guys. It is unethical to tell lies, repeat lies, deny lies. We did not cover half truths or email address theft in today’s discussion. The last few minutes was dedicated to when you get caught being unethical; the gist was start your own campaign against others, launch internal investigations, distract everyone so they forget what the issue was in the first place. My cell phone started ringing ( very unethical during class) and only heard part of the cardinal rule, something about never admitting you are wrong.
Yes Molly, She said "A Tree" JDH please don't climb trees. You might fall and get hurt. We wouldn't like that. Frankly, I like reading what John writes. Keeps the boredom out of the blog. Keep writing John.
tracy you ASSUME alot. I don't have a guestbook. I don't have a band. Last time I checked, internet guestbooks were public, to be read by anyone with access to a computer. People in the free world understand their rights and the rights of others. If the posts are not meant to encourage discussion, then what is the point of the poster. My blog post did not mention any band or individual. If you would like me to comment on shallow, just leave me a post.
I am NOT sure what drew you in this time to post at thee spot for Cleveland country. You and your words are always welcome. We do not edit, censor, moderate or delete posts.
I am pleased you selected the correct forum to share your thoughts....which are now public domain and the whole world can read...and comment on, wherever they want!
You should NOT be surprised that I agree with JDH and Frankley. I am concerned you don't appear to have a grasp of the public domain concept.
The particular guestbook in question wants the attention, and desires to engage in word warfare...otherwise they wouldn't bother publishing their "ideas". They just aren't very good at it.
Honestly, an overwhelming majority of our readers think Frankley is hysterical...myself included. Call us shallow...I call being witty!
I'd like to thank Ron for helping us out last night at Rita's. I've had the great pleasure of working with some of the best drummers in Cleveland over the past 10-15 years: Ron, Gerry Parisi, J.W., Brian Baldwin, Danny W., Danny Martin, Andy--they all made me better! Gentlemen,I thank you.
Foot Good Lord...We do love you! Keep the karma...AMEN. You are the current "Godfather" of Cleveland country music. You might want to consider being the NEW Ambassador of the blog. The previous Ambassador was impeached by an overwhelming majority of readers. The committee met, and voted unanimously that the previous Ambassador did not represent goodwill in the absence of the Executive Director.
JDH You should have been there...for so many reasons.
RAH/drummer extraordinaire My favorite Cleveland country drummer of all time. He's an "FM". He's awesome! New to country drummers...he's a great teacher also!
Michael Check your email! I gave you my very last "no one cares about your blog" pin, you must wear it as promised.
North of Texas You are NOT "just another country band"...don't let ANYONE tell ya any different.

I may just publish an email I received from a Cleveland country frontman...however it may draw more attention to "his band" then they are deserving. I would have to edit it, it contains profanity. Yes...I get nasty emails from the darnedest people.
I cannot use the content of my ALERT sent to him for "spider" reasons. Some words are more glaring than others.
Web, here is the update from the Myster Bus Tour last night. Had a great time. Over 300 people on 5 or 6 party busses. Started out at the Garage on 25th. After that, no one knew where we'd end up. All we knew was every place would have a patio. First stop was the Velvet Dog with their rooftop patio. Then we went to the Thirsty Parrot - a familiar place to me as I spend a good portion of Indians Home Opener days there. Then it was off to N. Olmsted and a really nice place called Alexanders. I'm going to have to get out there again for dinner. Extensive menu. They do have bands there occasionally but according to one of the guys behind the bar, they are not interested in country. Bummer. Then we went to a place called Razzles. I don't recall too much about that bar because by then I had way too much beer in me. lol We ended our evening back at the Garage. This was my second tour and is really a good time and a great way to meet a lot of people. Most of the bars had food to munch on and there is beer on the busses so you get to continue having fun while someone else drives.
Can you email me ANY information about how to execute such an event!
OMG...we could have so much fun! There are great venues and great food along the Cleveland country pathways...and some of the best damn musicians in town!

Just a clarification that an article about HL in the most recent issue of Exciting City was a misprint. Apparently they went through their archives to fill some space. At this time, Chris is not rejoining the band. The editor has been notified and hopefully some sort of retraction or correction will be forthcoming.
The Dixie Chicks are maintaining a firm perch atop the Billboard’s country charts. The fourth week, “Taking the Long Way” is country's best-selling album.
Mr. Webster posted: Most vampires are described in folklore as flushed and ruddy, with swollen bodies and bloated faces...... Mrs. Webster asks: Where have we seen this picture before?
A special Thank You to Mark for his on-going technical assistance. Today, he provided information to assist me with my.space editing. He was also a great deal of help with blue links!
Clevelandcountry.blogspot is attracting 8-10 new visitors from myspace each day. A regional radio personality sent me an email to say she reads everyday!
Kinda interesting...over the weekend, the blog was viewed by 18 visitors from Australia. I guess I should thank Nicole and Keith.
nakkedmonkey you golf? I am trying to get a hold of Ziggy to whack some balls today. I don't think Webster wants to golf today. She is waiting for perfect weather and a tee-time.

Roger Hoover said... Whiskeyhound bashing? I find it hilarious.
Do your homework - we were once a cover band. Matter of factly, we still perform 4 nights a week - and not exclusively to the Beachland/Lime Spider crowds.
I'm a Barberton boy raised on Uncle Dave Macon, Doc Boggs, Cash and George Jones. After playing covers for ten years I started crafting songs. Because my songs aren't considered pop or commercial my playing field is not as broad as it once was. I can't change the style of songs I write and I can't don't care to.
Not once have we ever claimed to be ,or have been, a country band. We're more influenced by Charlie Patton than we are Tracy Byrd.
For the record - I've only had one job - www.hooverfence.com.
I congratulate all of you who choose to play cover music at some of the venues that my band doesn't play. You've found your niche and are carrying on one true musical tradition - passing music on to people. We're doing the same thing, it just happens to be a different style than yours. Like I said, more Alan Touissant than Alan Jackson.
I've got a family and this is how I choose to support my family. Awards don't pay the bills.
The GOOD news...she fired right back up...the computer, that is. The BAD news is I had 8 documents open, don't know what is saved and what isn't...could up end up really sucking...lemons!
The GOOD news is Mr. Webster says it's going well at The Savannah. If he says so...it must be true! He is as much an expert as the rest of ya! Forty four consecutive years as a paid musician ain't nothing to sneeze at. North of Texas does need to go very far for critical analysis and pointers. Mr. Webster will "teach" Country 101 without being asked.
Come on, people! Everyone knows that everyone is checking out the posts. Doesn't ANYONE have anything to say? Any more interest in the bus tour on 9/1 that Webster's trying to put together?
Song crafter is a little bit much for me. The craft is making the country formula into something new and different. The craft is playing what they want to hear, not what you want to hear. Now if I had a buck for every time I've played--insert song here, musicians.
Molly I plan to move forward with the party bus. I have contacted the company, made a tentative reservation for Sept. 1st. I am confident we will "sell-out".
Mr. Webster Now you are talking like a fan! Good for you! Now...if we could just work on the teacher voice.
I have emails out to several of the clubs, and bands, however I am open to suggestions. ACE's seems like the best start/end. Curtis Brothers are there that night.
RockyJohnZimmerman said... A quick Hello to all on the blog site - Thanks for the kind words of prayer and well wishes. I really met and hooked up with some of the nicest guys in The Curtis Bros. Char Thank You...I know we can use your help for the "party bus". There are perks for the committee.
Molly On your party bus...did you have a keg? I am thinking MARGARITAS! I will be specific in my request for a bus...no dance pole (that would be rule #4).
Ernie My second favorite bass player. Thanks for stopping out at Crazy Rita's. It is a GOOD thing to be recognized as a rock steady "Country" bass player!
RAH/Drummer Extraordinaire Where was your cowboy hat? OH...did you sing "Beer for my Horses" on the way home?
Michael I am waiting!!! OH...I gave you my very last "No one cares about your Blog" pin, and you promised to wear it. I did NOT see it on your person last night.
"Party Bus" It's a go! Save the date...Friday, September 1st. Venues and details will be posted as they are finalized. Look for a July ad in Exciting City.
Michael, you bought a single ticket, didn't you? One of the ways to get a great seat. Oh - no need to "run for cover". Quit being such a chicken! No need for anyone to run and hide.
Nakked, congrats! I had front row center last year so 10th row this year seems SO far back. lol I'll get over it and probably work my way up anyway.
Michael--Sounds like our day was pretty much the same. Thanks for joining NOT last night. Carol enables us to do songs you will not here from any other band.I will pass your song suggestion along to her.

Don't miss the "Foot Notes"...
I could very easily start the rumor right now!
I think starting rumors is unethical.
A TREE?!?!
Yes Molly,
She said "A Tree"
JDH please don't climb trees. You might fall and get hurt. We wouldn't like that.
Frankly, I like reading what John writes. Keeps the boredom out of the blog. Keep writing John.
HUH?
tracy
you ASSUME alot.

NOT bad for the third gig!
One of my major pet-peeves is IGNORANCE!
The demonstration of ignorance is at all time high! I cannot believe ANYONE could be soooooooo stupid.
Foot
Good Lord...We do love you!
JDH
You should have been there...for so many reasons.

Yes...I get nasty emails from the darnedest people.
I cannot use the content of my ALERT sent to him for "spider"
reasons. Some words are more glaring than others.
UPDATE
Whiskey Bent is NOT at Slim & Chubby's tonight.
Obviously, a miscommunication has occurred. Mr. Webster was planning to guest on bass tonight with Whiskey Bent.

Hope everyone else had a great weekend!
Molly
We need to organize a "bus tour" of Cleveland country!!
Wouldn't that be a hoot?
Web, that's a great idea. I have the information on how to rent a party bus for the evening. I'll have to give them a call for a quote.
NOW...that would be awesome!
Can you email me ANY information about how to execute such an event!
OMG...we could have so much fun! There are great venues and great food along the Cleveland country pathways...and some of the best damn musicians in town!
Rule # 1...Fat' Boy's is a BIG fat NO!
Rule # 2...we play SYNYRD on the bus.
Rule # 3...we play The Dixie Chicks real LOUD!

Web- Thank you for the egreeting. That was very sweet of you.
2 more visits and all should be done I hope. I had to resort back to the vicodin this weekend lol I dont like taking that but man did I feel good!! LOL
Cleveland Country "party bus" tour is looking like a reality.
I have made contact with the company.
We are looking at dates and availability for a Friday night.
Molly has volunteered to assist, is there anyone else interested in being on the "committee"?
Perks for the "event committee".
Just a clarification that an article about HL in the most recent issue of Exciting City was a misprint. Apparently they went through their archives to fill some space. At this time, Chris is not rejoining the band. The editor has been notified and hopefully some sort of retraction or correction will be forthcoming.
OK...we have selected a date!
Friday, September 1 for the Cleveland Country Party Bus!
I could be in on that as of now but I know I have a camping trip set tentatively for that weekend but not sure if friday or saturday we leave.
Haven't totally recuperated from Saturday's Bus Tour with Molly. Now we are having another?
Molly, no driving what so ever this time.
TKFan, I'm sure you'll be ready for another tour once 9/1 rolls around. LOL
tobeykeithfan
Did I hear you say you wanted to be on the committee?
Yep...we have launched into the feasibility phase.
So far...the plan is to start/end at ACE's. The Curtis Brothers are at Ace's on 9/1.

Experience has taught me that umpteen emails, a handful of posts and serious pageloading from the oddest places is NOT good news!
I don't have time or the energy to focus on any of it. I would like to enjoy the rest of the daylight hours with my husband.

2 for 1 for Brookes & Dunn... That's what you get when your band gets progressively worse with each album... BLAH!

As ever,

The GOOD news is Mr. Webster says it's going well at The Savannah.
If he says so...it must be true! He is as much an expert as the rest of ya! Forty four consecutive years as a paid musician ain't nothing to sneeze at.
North of Texas does need to go very far for critical analysis and pointers. Mr. Webster will "teach" Country 101 without being asked.

Song crafter is a little bit much for me. The craft is making the country formula into something new and different. The craft is playing what they want to hear, not what you want to hear.
Now if I had a buck for every time I've played--insert song here, musicians.
Molly
I plan to move forward with the party bus. I have contacted the company, made a tentative reservation for Sept. 1st. I am confident we will "sell-out".
