Mr. Web has me taking care of the baby while he's watching "big time wrestling"...I swear, it's a charmed life. I am reminded daily how fortunate I am to have fallen in love while observing the Cleveland Country Scene. It's when I fell in love with country...again. Big time wrestling is to me as is SKYNYRD is to home. It's an interesting blend.
Our blog community is getting international attention...that's always cool. We are appreciative of the link from The Curtis Brother's Band.
Love Johnny Cash, but the picture is too big. I am gonna leave it up for a day. Tomorrow is a Beatle mourning day. I am sure Mr. will go into great painstaking historically accurate detail and a personal expereince. The Johnny Cash portrait spoke to me...actually whispered "this is perfect to pay tribute". Might have been Elvis that told me, a part of him returned with us from Graceland...again I swear!
JDH- I gave up and turned on rasslin'! The pre-party show was pretty good, though. Jason Aldean, Little Big Town (why do I keep hearing Black Water when the do Boondocks?) and my new favorites Van Zant (Skynyrd and .38 Special in ONE band!)
Web- It's part of the mystery of the swamp queen! Sometimes it's LeVeux, sometimes Leveu, or Levoe.
By the way, here's a point scorer on Mr. Web....the answer is Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show, NOT Bobby Bare! You tell him, I don't have the heart!
Speaking of heart, does anyone know the REAL story of last Saturday at Fat Boy's? Rumors are flying!

Shel Silverstein was a prolific songwriter for Dr. Hook, Bobby Bare, and he wrote the entire Old Dogs CD. He's also one of my son Kyle's and daughter Crystal's favorite poets/authors. On top of all that, he was one of Playboy magazine's featured cartoonists! The last of the true renaissance men!
As for Fat Boy's, I understand the bar was shut down early, but the reasons vary from story to story. Any first hand accounts out there?

Morning all....I guess we're on this page now...there are so many to choose from. lol Love the picture of Cash but it is a little overwhelming. lol
I thought the awards were ok last night...best performance definitely was "Believe". I also liked the tribute to Hank, Jr. I missed about a half hour as I fell asleep but I heard on WGAR this morning that Faith's performance wasn't "all that". I had the VCR taping though so I'll catch it later. Monica, I totally agree - Trace was hot!
As for Fat Boys, nothing unusual this past Saturday. Two guys were a little late and one of them had a babysitter issue. FBs was shut down about 1:30 AM three Saturdays ago. Unfortunately, that was a night I strolled in around 1 AM! Walked in just as a fight was starting and should have just turned around. lol
Sometimes I think soundmen think they wield way too much power!
I agree with Molly. I was there. Band started a little late but played until 2:00am. No fights. Didn't close early.

NO! I've always wanted to go to Jamboree in the Hills....no one is ever willing to take time off work to go w/ me. Do people bring their kids? My daughter is 13 and LOVES country music. However, I wonder if she can take several days of it! lol

I was just checking out the website. It looks like so much fun. I figured there would be a lot of drinking; that's why I haven't taken my daughter thus far. Wasn't sure if others did though. Guess I'll get their eventually. They don't have the daily schedules up yet on the website. I think it would be hard to pick just one day!

WOW!
If I remember correctly (and I do) all I did was ask for FACTS. More than one person came up to me Saturday night and asked me what had happened at Fat Boy's THAT night. Since the only time I go there is to play, I asked the folks that I thought might be in attendance for FACTS. I did not insinuate any wrong-doing, or any misbehaviors, I merely asked for FACTS.
What I got was a back-handed insult and aspersions cast upon my character. I have no need to "stir the pot". I couldn't care less if the whole damn pot burned. My life will go on. This is merely a recreational diversion.
Furthermore, here's a piece of advice I'd like to share and have shared with many others...I'm a very good person to have as a friend......DON'T PISS ME OFF!
When I'm among friends, I'm a teddy bear. When I feel under attack....let's just not go there!
For the more civilized amongst you, I suggest this site for Shel Silverstein lyrics and poetry. He truly was an amazing man.

Morning! Busy on here last night, I see. I was watching Idol and stopped by the Idol page but didn't venture over here. Foot, you ARE a teddy bear! And I certainly ain't gonna piss you off! lol I was at FBs last Sat. night and really, nothing out of the ordinary. Ah, but is there anything "ordinary" at FBs? LOL That being said, maybe something went down after I left? I don't know.
Civilized? Hmmm, I try to be.
:-) My daughter and I have loved Silverstein's work for years.
Hey Rev. Welcome. Yes, I plan to see Toby Keith this year if I can find out when he'll be here! Not on his site yet. Not sure who else I'll see...ticket prices are so expensive these days. Just last week, my daughter and I were actually looking at some old ticket stubs that I saved from WAY back when. We're talking late 80s. Boy, I'm dating myself. lol Anyway, $18.00 per ticket for AC/DC, Poison, Guns N Roses, Metallica, etc. Ahhh, the good old days when tickets were a bit more affordable!
I was going to ask you yesterday, Nobeer, how many more days. lol When is the first day of school?

According to a message board or two I checked this morning, most people seem to be a bit sick of Katherine. I thought Ace did well as well as Elliott and Chris. I couldn't help but laugh at the Pickler though. There is a new song out by Pink, "Stupid Girls". Kellie fits it perfect... Just can't decide if she's purposely "dumbing herself down" or if she really IS that naive. LOL
I think Miranda looked especially pi**ed off when she didn't win anything on Monday....unless she won something in the last half hour. I fell asleep. lol

Ross, it's really only been less than 10 people who have left HL in the last year or so, hasn't it? I'm NOT trying to start anything at all. It's just an observance ... Anotherhlfan, somehow I'm sure I'll take a lot of the flack. Anyone who speaks up on behalf of HL is considered worthless. However, that's not what my post was about anyway. Just the "inflamed" numbers that people like to throw around. I am a fan of just about all of the bands.

Easter Sunday
We are NOT hopping down the bunny trail just yet...slow moving this morning. It's been a month of Sunday's since we were awake at 4:00 in the morning.
Mr. Webster cannot believe there is NO chocolate in the house. We are hosting a coffee hour at the senior center for the "shut-ins", maybe he will find chocolate there.

Michael, you were looking for country music at Blossom. They finally announced five concerts this morning. They have their package deal going on again; all five concerts for the low, low price $325.00.

Nobeer, not sure the whole schedule is anywhere yet, but WGAR announced the package deal this morning. Toby on 8/11. Charlie Daniels, Brooks & Dunn, Sugarland on various other dates. I forgot the other artists but recall them saying to check out HOB.com. Also, I guess there will eventually be a link on WGAR's site.
Ticket prices are just insane these days.
