timj
Hope to see you tonight at Cabana Jack's in Sandusky.

JDH, Todd, Rubyking-
Just heard the rough mix of the first single...If I Were a Carpenter and You Were a Lady Would you Let Me Nail You!
OUTSTANDING!!!!

Todd-
Won't the red & white stripes make our asses look big?

I still think we should do Bawatiba in four part harmony!

zx/xz/lsmft- The bobble heads are on order but they'll be expensive. There's a LOT of plaster involved!

Sunday 4/2/06

"Spring Break" is winding down. We love "spring break", and this year we needed a break...from sooo many things.
You would think Heartland would be one of those things. Twenty minutes into the road trip, Mr. Webster says "throw that blue CD in". I swear I thought it was going to be the "blue" Elvis CD.
Instead, it's Heartland at the 2004 Painesville Music Festival. I don't know what version of Heartland...the version before the serious collapse.
Ernie(my 2nd favorite bass player) had just been dismissed. Mr. Webster returned to bass from rhythm guitar. Thee guitar DON was lead, EVERY lead was awesome...except Josh's. RAH, the drummer, is one of the best. TR's vocals were not horrible all the time...he could sing, between inhalers. Buck's keys were...you know.
We listened to the WHOLE CD. I even took notes, and as soon as I unpack them, I will share them!

Blogger Foot said...

Here we go again! I knew I shouldn't have looked in one more time before bed!

HL Fan- I saw no slam. Just statements of fact. Compliments to Ernie, Mr Webster, TR, & WAH. No harm, no foul!

Web- If you want to review the CD, why not? Isn't this supposed to be the place for opinions?

All- YOUR TURN!

Good morning all! Spring break is over, daughter is back at school and I was forced to come back to work! Yuck. Haven't had a chance to read the posts from last week on Mr. Webster's portion, but over here...loved the song titles. Great sense of humor guys!

Hope your trip went well Webster.

I've heard the HL CD from Painesville and didn't think it was bad. HOWEVER, I am not a musician! lol I can't "pick apart" things during songs and most of the time, I think everything sounds good! lol But that's with all the bands. You all sound great to me but to another musician's ear, I'm sure there are "flaws" here and there. That is not a slam in any way....

Great to see you Sat. night, Foot!

Have a great day everyone!

10:16 AM
Blogger Molly said...

JDH, I know it must be difficult to remember everything every night and have everyone on the same page. Again, you guys all sound great to me. AND you remember all the words to all the songs! There is only one person who screws that part up alot but I'm not going to go there. I don't want to start a riot! lol

10:45 AM
Blogger Molly said...

I don't think so.

10:55 AM
Blogger Mrs. Webster said...

Am I surprised? Nah...not really.

HL fan
Preceptions are just that. I am not offended. My perception of you is probably just as tainted. I am hopeful you will remain civil.

Pastposter
My house is bigger than yours!

Molly
Your Heartland heart strings are showing again. I am surprised you have heard the Painesville CD...there were less than a dozen made. I think we had to pay for ours! You are "inner circle" if you have a copy. BTW... Mike has shown improvement and Whiskey Bent is booked all over town.

11:17 AM
Blogger Molly said...

Web, don't have a copy. Just said that I heard it. lol If I'm correct, none of those members on the CD are even with the band now, save one, so the CD is irrelevant. Oh, no "heart strings" showing. Just voicing my opinion as you and everyone else did.

11:23 AM
Blogger Molly said...

Nobeer, out where?

11:39 AM
Blogger Molly said...

Cool. I actually did hear about Giant Eagle doing them. Meet, Mingle & Match, a local singles group, just had one last Thursday evening. Didn't go but I heard it was $42.00. I'll have to pay more attention to the Friday Magazine ads.

11:54 AM
Blogger Mrs. Webster said...

prefer reds...owned a vineyard at one time. Very familiar with local growers/wine makers.

Molly
Don't care to re-hash what is obvious. My point is very few people are aware of the CD, let alone heard it! Bucked up as it is...it's relevent to the current state of Heartland.

12:01 PM
Blogger Mrs. Webster said...

HL fan
ok...you are probably RIGHT!
and so was I!

12:11 PM
Blogger Molly said...

Web, don't care to rehash either. You are the one who brought up the CD with the intent to criticize.

BTW, where was your vineyard located?

There's a topic that I don't think has been touched on. Where is everyone from, originally? I am a lifelong Clevelander, but now live in Brooklyn. Didn't go far! LOL Just curious who else is from these parts....

12:17 PM
Blogger Mrs. Webster said...

Sara
confused by "bad management that threads the blog".

Molly
Vineyards were located west of Lorain County. 100 acres total...sold interest in 1997, prior to being relocated to Kentucky. I have yet to be critical of the Heartland CD. Your frequent denials...just don't add up. The likelyhood of the average Cleveland country fan hearing this particular CD is pretty remote.

2:51 PM
Blogger Mrs. Webster said...

HL fan
Come on. Who isn't intolerant of really "vile" behavior? There only a handful of people that I have been out and out rude to. If you are one of them...trust me you deserved it.
Of course, I will rave about my husband...dah!

Sara
thanks for the clarification. I thought that was what you meant, but was willing to ask how the blog could be managed better.

Later...after 5.

3:12 PM
Blogger Molly said...

Web, I've never denied that I don't know Jim and/or various members of Heartland. Recent past and present. lol I don't believe I've had the pleasure of meeting your hubby. But I do know, at the very minimum as acquaintances, members of various bands. I guess you can say I get around. lol I mean that in an innocent sense. I'm confused when you say my 'frequent denials don't add up'. I've seen just about all of the local bands and enjoy every one of them. I thought that's what it's all about: support the bands...... Is it only the bands that you "approve" of? I've tried to remain as neutral as I'm capable of regarding most bands.

Anyway, are you originally from Lorain County?

And where is everyone today? Seems like it's just us and I don't want to "argue" with you, Web. Nobeer: are you getting some work done? lol

3:24 PM
Blogger Molly said...

hl fan: I want it known that I do NOT agree with your thinking on the reference to "snob". Also, I'm sure Web doesn't REALLY think we all live in trailer parks....do ya, Web? lol Not sure why you are speculating in this manner, hl fan.

didn't know the whole batch was AWOL...we were talking about the 2004 Painesville Music Festival CD, limited edition...that I am quite sure band members had to donate 2 bucks to the "band fund" to get one.

IDOL update

It was "Country" night with Kenny Rodgers...Keith Urban, Shania, Reba, Gary Allen, Martina, and John Denver. Great melodies don't need powerhouse voices. Country music/vocals are more difficult than people assume. Big surprise...Simon HATES country.

Taylor...struggled with Country Roads. Am I the only person that thought he should have done Wave on Wave with that soulful voice?

Mandisa...FAILED! It was a horrible song for her. Oh...where the heck is the stylist?

Elliott...Mr. Webster says "he's not singing the story".

Paris...LeeAnn Rymes/Trisha Yearwood both cringed last night. This could be her last week.

Ace...OuH RAH, he even looked like Keith Urban for a second. Last night he found "it"

Kellie...still love this girl, the Mr. was shaking his head in disagreement. She is the target of "Vote for the Worst" and tabloid gossip/photos.

Katherine...way up in the pre-lim polls, still OVERATED.

Chris...AKA "Rocker Cowboy" was AWESOME. Turns out he's a rebel from a country family.

Bucky...sang right to Mrs. Bucky, who wouldn't love a man that does that!

7:43 AM
Blogger Molly said...

4/5

Morning! Web, I hadn't thought about it, but Taylor would have done much better w/ Wave on Wave. Chris sang good but he seemed to have that "deer in the headlights" look. Maybe he was trying to be sexy or soulful staring into the camera, but I thought he looked scared!

9:19 AM
Blogger Molly said...

I did think Ace did a great job and Chris was good too. Kellie did great but she was in her element. I think Paris will be in the bottom three but not quite sure who the other two may end up being.

Reviewed the top 4 IDOL on-line polls. Looks like Paris, Mandisa, and Elliott are in trouble.

Dial Idol monitors busy signals to make thier projections. They have Elliott and Mandisa in the bottom two.

Two others have Paris and Elliott in the bottom two.

AOL poll has Paris and Bucky with the least amount of on-line votes.

blonde?
guitar world-guitar center does it really matter. Frank won. different sound, different style, don't know new country, all translates to not as good, or cannot hold a candle.

The new baby blog splept through the night. The visits from Uncle Ernie, Uncle Foot, Uncle Hardy, Uncle Michael, Aunt Charlene and Cousin Ziggy were much appreciated.
Student visits will be permitted Monday afternoon.

Mr. Webster can barely take care of himself, much less a new baby...I may need to take maternity leave.

We decieded to move the baby to his own room. "Pop Culture" requires a "student friendly" environment.

On the bright side, I was damn proud Saturday night at Aces!
Harmony, Waylon, Johnny Cash, and Ernie sang! You boys have come a long way since I saw you the last time! Congratulations, LAWLESS!!
