SO...are ya wondering bout the photos on the front of the blog?

NOT a thing to do with country.

Ya are looking at the NEWLY appointed Assistant General Manager of the Sarasota Reds...that would be my "golden boy".

His internship ended yesterday. Today, he's moving into his new office overlooking his stadium.

Yesterday, I purposefully led off this thread with a NON controversial topic.

Ummm...OK, no disrespect meant for MY son and his remarkable achievement.

What portion of your statement/post, in your opinion, was NOT disrespectful?

Here is my interpretation...
You believe only a certain person is WORTHY of undiluted respect at this time.

Any one else MUST have human heads extending from their hind quarters.

I'll be sure to wear an a-line pleated skirt today to obscure the additional backside baggage.

Moving right along...

Yesterday morning I read on the Curtis Brothers website that Bobby Lee was gonna front Lawless tonight at ACE's.

This morning on the Curtis Brothers website it says Bobby Lee and Local All Stars perform at ACE's tonight.

Are ya all pretending that 5 out 6 Lawless members performing tonight at ACE's is NOT Lawless?

Would anyone care to explain?

Just reviewing third quarter music industry statistics...thought I would share.

Overall...music industry album sales (CD & digital) are down 14.2%.

Thinking about putting down another CD this year?
CD’s continue to lose favor with consumers. All-genre sales are off by almost 19%.

Country albums are tanking.
YTD album sales of 35.76 million units compared with 50.08 million units at the end of the 2006 third quarter. A drop of 26.1% and one of the worst showings of any format.

The cost of digital music downloads is starting to fall. Good for consumers, NOT so good for artists.
The downloads were as high as $2.99...and NOW as low as 79 cents.

Country digital consumers account for approximately 5.2% of the purchases, significantly lower than the all genre average of 10.6%.

Wal-Mart, while it remains the top music seller in the U.S., its overall growth has slowed and its retail is slipping.
The price gap between Wal-Mart and other stores has been taking a downward turn for months. Ummm...don’t tell Garth.

It's official...I am a Next Great American Band geek. It's a small club. Me, the Mr. and 12 other folks across the Midwest are faithfully watching.

The Hatch and The Likes Of You were eliminated last night. Hated the The Hatch.

My favorite, Sixwire, opened the show. Each band performed an original song and an Elton John & Bernie Taupin cover.

Sixwire
“Gotta Get Away”
“Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me.”
Love these guys.
Check em out on my MySpace

Tres Bien
“How I Feel”
“Love Lies Bleeding”
So Beatlesque...vintage British invasion.

Franklin Bridge
“Love’s Fool”
“Philadelphia Freedom”
Way too much jamming...liked them better last week.

The Clark Brothers
“Country Time”
“Country Comfort”
Awesome all string band...cutie pie Christians.

Light Of Doom
“Light Of Doom”
“Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting”
6th grade metal at it’s best/worst. Vote for the Worst has targeted them.

Dot Dot Dot
“Stay”
“Your Song ”
NOT really liking them. Wonder if I am alone.

Cliff Wagner & The Old No. 7
“Little White Chapel”
“Honky Cat ”
Love em and Bluegrass...hope they are around for a while.

The Muggs
“Should’ve Learned My Lesson”
“I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues ”
A BETTER target for Vote for the Worst.

Rocket
“My Future Ex-Girlfriend”
“Rocket Man”
An EVEN better choice for Vote for the Worst.

Denver & The Mile High Orchestra
“All Night”
“I’m Still Standing ”
Charming swing band...NOT The Next Great American Band.

The picture was a great surprise.
Thanks to all who noticed. It made for a fun day at school! Not that they all aren't fun days. I LOVE MY JOB!!!

The Mrs. and I are off to see "Beehive" tonight. Forty 60's songs in one musical. I'll be in heaven!

Boy, if Sixwire's bass player could sing they would be unstoppable! That would give them two more voices than Cleveland country bands have. C'mon boys,TOP THAT HARMONY!

Light of Doom--Kids staying true to their influences. They actually made an Elton John song sound like it had some balls.

Clark Bros.--Enough with the mandolin poser faces.

Rockett--When some people have to sing a real song you see why they never do.

The Muggs--"Let's get outta here. These guys suck!"

Franklin Bridge--This is what happens when a bass player forgets the function of his instrument.

Tres Bien--Love the whole goofy 60's feel. But...

Over to WGAR.

Barry Hughes?--Remember Pony Express? Hell, he's probably older than me!

Lawless--"The Well Ran Dry" is still your best song.

Tony Rio--The one tune that rocks. This is radio friendly!

Dolf Lundgren is 48 today. Drago in "Rocky 4."

Adam Ant is 53.

Rosanne is 55.

Dennis Miller is 54.

Bob Feller is 89.

1998 - Former professional wrestler Jesse Ventura is elected Governor of Minnesota.

1957 - Sputnik program: The Soviet Union launches Sputnik 2. On board is the first animal to enter orbit: a dog named Laika.

P Diddy is 37.

Kathy Griffin is 41.

Doris Roberts is 77. Raymond's mom.

Heartland is hoping they are BULLETPROOF.
Been meaning to ask; is it BUCK management or Fat Boy's management making the schedule decisions?

Fat Boy's management has made the decision not to have BP back. When you have a band who will work for peanuts and undercuts another band, obviously, management will go with the "cheaper" band. Business is business. The only reason I ever went there was to support HL/BP. I RARELY ventured in when anyone else was playing so this saves me a trip. Bottom line - the place is a dive and their regular clientele....well, I'll stop there. However, their ladies room is STILL cleaner than Ace's! LOL

The Next Great American Band is NOT...The Muggs or Rocket.

Actually, I fell asleep Friday night sometime before Sixwire.

In keeping with the 12 people in the Midwest interested in this show, I taped it for Mr. Webster. We played the tape last night.

The remaining eight bands performed a Billy Joel song.

Franklin Bridge
Big Shot
Everything this band does is beginning to sound exactly the same. Liked them BETTER when they are more traditional R&B.

Cliff Wagner & The Old No. 7
You May Be Right
Love these guys...tons of talent, and remind me of The Derailers.

Denver & The Mile High Orchestra
Tell Her About It
Vanilla and boring. I imagine them landing on the Las Vegas strip.

Dot Dot Dot
Pressure
Danger, danger...on borrowed time.

Sixwire
She’s Always A Woman
The housewives and my favorite.
"she never gives in, she just changes her mind". LOL!

Tres Bien
Movin’ Out
We just like these guys.

The Clark Brothers
She’s Got A Way
All string, country influenced and the frontman can sing!

Light of Doom
The Stranger
The band of Brads. Personally I can’t stand metal.

The "country" bands could easily be dueling it out in the finals.

Morning...and YES, it is Friday!

Heartland is NOT Bulletproof.
The most recent version is gigless until after the first of the year.
If the band photos are accurate...Buck has quit too!

OH, and they no longer deem me a MySpace friend.
Now...that is funny.
I added them upon THEIR request...because I thought it was Molly.

Interestingly...they have "friended" Laredo and Lawless.

Laredo shut Heartland out of ACE's. Ross would slam Buck/Heartland frequently under the screen name "countryfanfromhell".

Lawless is Heartland.
The history between these two bands is ironic, and had been a HATE-fest for years.

Personally, I remember NOT saying the word Lawless for fear Buck would pass another kidney stone.
Hence...we called them the "L-band".

Yeppers...I know ya all LOVE each other now. There is soooooo much "mutual respect" in the air, ya can barely breathe.

Like the pic on the front of the blog?

I may have been trigger happy and double clicked.

Cause I got the message...You may only register for this contest once per day and you have already entered today. You may come back after Midnight EST and re-enter if the contest is still running.

For today...we will say it was me, and that my vote counted.

7:01 AM
Blogger Mrs. Webster said...

OK...it is understood, NOT everyone will find this funny. However, I am NO longer catering to the Lawless crowd.

So...someone googles "Lawless Cleveland Country".
Of course, Lawless comes up first in the "search", followed by three links to the blog.

And this...Demand Lawless

Maybe...the handwriting was on the wall a year ago.

ACE's Mentor has bumped Backwoods to Friday and Lawless will be there on Saturday. Someone should tell Foot to update his website.

Her post was directly under and following websters post, which was the first of the day!

I hope you folks realize that all the smack comes from the same person onver and over.

I have been to this place in nearly 3 weeks and I figured it out right away.

Web, you truly are a pathetic, bitter, bored old bitch!

OK...NOT everyone has moved on to the new thread.

Yesterday, I purposefully lead off the new thread with my son...in the hopes that ya would follow along.

Lawless ladies...don't engage Simon. Avoid the knee jerk reactions.

Simon and I correspond outside of the blog via email and IM.
I jetted off an email to Simon last night, and requested a respite for today.

Nakked
You are WRONG bout the logging on. Seriously.
You post you are done with Simon...yet respond repeatedly?

Nobeerhere
It is with authority that I post...
Simon has NOT been near my hind quarters.
To the best of my knowledge, Simon is NOT a forlorn Lawless groupie. The "issues" are shared/common disdain and disgust at this time.

It must matter to you.

What's with calling Webster a pathetic, bitter, bored old b*tch?

Simon and Web one in the same? Who knows. I have often thought that many people have many identities on this thing. I think I made a comment a while back that the blog was getting boring so an "alias" was made up to bring the controversy back. Even if that is true...who cares.

I am guessing that Simon is not Web...for various reason. Simon just is a Web wannabe and believes everything she says...which is fine. Hence another of my earlier comments about Simon's head being inserted in Web's inferior posterior opening.

Yes Dear...sometimes it is difficult to follow along. I had to read it a couple of times myself, this morning.

Hmmm...

A person (who shall remain nameless) took the time to create ANOTHER screen name to share their thought about Simon/Webster.

At least ten people spent more time on the blog yesterday than I did.

Am I the only one that sees the irony of this?

Bitter...PLEEASE
Life is good in Websterville. PERIOD!

Old...prefer mature/wise.
Perhaps, if someone would have listened to what I was saying. The big "L" would not stand for LOSER.

Bored...I am NOT logging on every twenty minutes or carrying on conference calls over my posts.

Pathetic...for heaven's sake, see above.

The B-word..."VINDICTIVE".
This is NOT news.

There are interesting developments, but NOT everything is COMPLETELY confirmed. I don't just make things up despite what ya hear.

I will go with what I ALWAYS say...the TRUTH always takes longer.
