Winner receives $1000 and 100 spins on WGAR.

Uncle Kracker has been fined $1,500 and sentenced to 12 months of probation after pleading guilty to assaulting a woman at a Raleigh, N.C., nightclub last month. He was arrested on Aug. 17 after appearing at an outdoor concert. Prosecutors said the entertainer had been drinking heavily when he visited the club and stumbled down a staircase into the woman, who alleged he groped her buttocks and her vaginal area.

Morning All...
Ya don't have to go far for an escape. I found a perfect spot just 20 miles west. West of us.

Last night...we watched the sun disappear as we walked our favorite little beach, splashing in the waves, and left behind love notes in the sand.

This morning...when I opened the curtains it was still dark. There was a brillent crescent moon, and huge stars.

The sun came up over the trees bout an hour ago. The canal/river has been shimmering and there has been a constant boat parade.

NOTHING to be annoyed about...

Sorry to the BANDS that were REJECTED by WGAR for the Super Star Contest.

There was something about TSA in the four pages of rules.

ME: I didn't think it applied to the "contestant", I thought it applied to voters.

All the mumbo jumbo about more than one station and being conducted in several states is confusing.

Anyway...October 15, @ 12:00 a.m. WGAR will post all selected entries, per their "exclusive three judge panel", on the WGAR
website for voting.
Ya MIGHT have to be a "loyal listener" to vote.

Each week, half of the "artists" will be voted off.

There is a whole paragraph about NOT annoying each other, and being sportsman like...yada yada yada.
LOL!

If I were speaking to JDG...

I would tell him "Get There From Here" is NOT the winner and will NOT make him/Lawless a Super Star.
There...I said it and you read it!

Don't care what people are telling him/them.
It ain't that great, it's NOT radio ready and he/they certainly don't have the numbers to support the claim...that it's GOLD.

Yes...he actually said that! Don't care if he denies it.
Been there!

In the unlikely event that I am WRONG...I will admit as much.

Sharon,

First and foremost I will not hide behind a fake name, everything I am about to say is coming straight from me, my mouth, and key board !!

I have read your blog here and there , laughing at some of the stuff that goes on.
You criticize, bands, people, choices and effort that they put in to making their lives what they want them to be.

Your posts do nothing but poke and prod at people in pathetic attempts to get the pot stirred up and keeping attention drawn to yourself so that you are entertained.

You of all people should know how much work, blood, sweat and tears goes into making a band, playing gigs, getting paid, having fun, taking care of the family, and trying to get your name out there.
You live with someone who does every single one of those things.
Yet you seem to always have something negative to say about others.

Get off your horse and come back to reality that you and your family are no different then every other single musician's family in this city, busting their butts .

I saw a post a few weeks ago that said. Your quote........

In my last conversation with JDg, I made a point of saying the following..."honey, I love you no matter what I say or blog, no matter what...you know that...right."

That is such crap, do you tell your kids or husband " no matter how bad I talk about you, in an attempt to entertain myself and others , I still love you?"
What would you do if someone for example: Mr. king said that to you?

Picture this on a web page where a lot mutual friends visit....

"My wife is a B****, nag and never shuts up, she has no talent , and sucks at her job that she loves so much"
But yet HE comes home and says "baby you know I love you right?"

I cannot give lawless a record deal, make someone a doctor or lawyer. What I can do is not put down other people for doing what they love and working so hard at it!

I am really curious what makes you a "specialist" in the music industry to tell someone wether or not their songs are radio ready or good enough?

I am in no way shape or form a music guru , but all these men and women bust their butts day in and out !
I try as much as I can to keep my mouth shut and support the people I love, but once in awhile I cannot hold it back . Today is the lucky day !

I do know one thing, John let you into his life with walls down, and I think that goes for a lot of other people who have befriended you.
Let me just say you lost a great friend because you forgot to think before you spoke. Most people do not know John they know "JDH" , I fell in love with JOHN as an incredibly loving, and caring person who would give you the shirt off his back if you ever needed it.

Please by all means keep posting, but do me a favor before you post your next rude ,degrading comment, remember one thing. Your husband is no different than any of the musicians trying so hard that you speak so low about !

I am NOT a music guru or specialist.
I understand market trends.
OH...and If I like the song, it matters ALOT.

Ya see... I analyze feasibility, study demographics and predict sales trends for a living.
My strategic focus groups are right on the money.
My personal country music tastes are very very similar to an overwhelming majority of the females on the planet.

Ummm...I can appreciate the love song.
Understand completely...the passion for your song.
But it ain't the ONE.
IF I am wrong...I will admit as much.

I don't know if this is more of the First or the beginning of Second...

I do NOT listen to WGAR.
So...in that regard, I have no clue what they play.
Ummm...are they (WGAR) the GURUs?
I cannot stomach WGAR...I JUST can NOT.

But...I know WHAT country music is receiving air/play time and/or downloads.

I pay very very close attention to the play lists and country charts. The indies too.
I subscribe/read 18 music market related blogs.
I read the bulletins and the trades.
I have a fairly clear picture of the market, and what is selling and what isn't.
I've been studying the country music market for 7 years.

I acquiesce...I am NOT a GURU.
Maybe, a senior level specialist.

Im gonna step up here and say that I have to agree w/ Janel. Im entitled to my opinion here and Im with Janel on this. These guys ALL work hard at what they do while maintaining a "normal" life as well. Cheron, I m gonna just say this you think John does this solely because he loves doing this? No... hes trying to make a life for him and his girls and ya cant blame him for that..Im not gonna make this a long post.. Janel has said it and said it well. Sure MOST of the 'digs' for MOST bands are deserved because of their behavior and such.. but if your going to criticize be sure its a full circle of criticism no ONE is perfect! Im done!

Oh dear. Web, I cannot help but wonder if this is the "hurricane" you were predicting. I have no idea what happened between you and John, and truly it is probably none of my business, but to be honest, well, I have been noticing a change in your tone on about everything for weeks.

I think instead of being so "middle of the road" and protective when it comes to this blog, you need to just come out with it. This is by no means a challenge, but in my opinion, you are kinda starting to suck.

I never realized you were such an "authority" on music, but I hate to say it, you thought Kelly Pickler was going to make it and frankly, she flopped. Not even breast implants and fancy shoes helped her.

Lawless is a local band, and no matter what you may think you know or don't know...you support your FRIENDS and local bands and don't bash them on a forum where you so adoringly have supported them in the past. That sucked. Sorry, when you said it I truly thought "What the hell is she thinking?".

You stand by being able to say what you want, but really, what possessed you to be so rotten? It just leads me to believe that things have gotten a little boring on here and like a television station you are looking for ratings, or in this case attention. Well you got it, but you have managed to lose some respect from me. Not saying I won't visit, but really, was it worth it?

P.S. Nice to see you hellcat.

She is coming off of American Idol, people are curious. Do you really think people are buying tickets to Brad Paisley to see her? Seriously, let's see how her second album does.

Just my opinion, I am not impressed, by her, or your rattling of statistics...I heard her sing live on a CMT special and she was not quite right. Let's not forget her less than star quality performance on her reappearance on American Idol last year either.

nough said.

You're pretty much inconsequential, wrong most of the time with your opinions, assumptions, and predictions of other peoples relationships, but your good at creating a lot of enemies. I play the washboard very well.

If I am incorrect with my assumption that you assisted Laredo with their tracks...take it to Hardy. He's the one that told me ya did!

In addition, I am NOT in the mood for your mood swings.
It MUST be near the full moon.

For the record...I am usually CORRECT, when it is all said and done! The truth ALWAYS takes longer.

I was thinking out loud...as to why Laredo isn't in the contest.
Doesn't make much sense...now does it?

Ummm...ya can NOT make a case for Laredo is NOT good enough when there were 10 additional slots, and some of the ones that were selected by the exclusive three judge panel really really suck!

My ears are NOT made of tin. I am NOT deaf like MOST musicians.

I have NOT slandered anyone...PERIOD!!

Yeah so I assisted Laredo with their demo tracks, none of them were mastered, mixed, or dolled up. They are what they recorded. period. No bells and whistles, no extended takes, not hours and hours of mixing and overdubs. I did it as a favor for them. They still sound better than you playing a washboard BTW. You talk about mood swings ??? Let's be serious here. They didn't make the WGAR contest, neither did we - so what ? I know you support Clear Channel now don't you ? National GOP radio. You have Bush logic... It's my way and I won't waver on anything. Stay the course. You're not always right, and you teeter on slanderous remarks all the time.
You have personally hinted and made a folly out of my band's recent misfortune. You said Tim J and I removed each other from our MY Space pages. We didn't. You hinted that Jerry, Rocky John, and Tim, were pretending to be friends when we weren't by saying that's what they all say. I don't have a issue with any musician or country fan in this town. - Only you. I wish Lawless, (and my friend Jerry) the best of luck in the future. Same with Laredo, Foot, Kentucky Thunder, Rocky John and all the rest of the local talent out there. But that will be twisted into something I didn't say or truly believe somehow. Next time you have a preminition about something pertaining to me or my band why don't you have the guts to ask me personally. I have no reason to lie to you, for in the long run this blog has no relevance to anyone except those who thrive on gossip, bullshit, and the misfortunes of others. The Next Great American Band...

My personal favorite of the 2 hour audition, and a frequent Websterscountry MySpace TOP Friend made the 12 finalists.

Sixwire, a delightful mix of country and rock; from Nashville, TN.

The other eleven:

Tres Biem, a 60’s retro/vintage band that the judges loved; from Clearwater, FL.

Light of Doom, a pack of 12/13 YOs playing metal; from San Marcos, CA.

The Hatch, a mellow group who made it to the finals with a cover of Bill Withers classic “Use Me” a Pop/Rock band; from Brooklyn, NY.

The Clark Brothers, impressive with a slide guitar and electric violin in a cover of “This Little Light of Mine”, a Bluegrass/Country band from; Nashville, TN.

Dot Dot Dot, got by with a punk cover of a Burt Bacharach tune; a Modern Rock band from Chicago, IL.

The Muggs, the band closest to Cleveland, and a favorite of the judges who all love their blues style; a Classic Rock band from Detroit, MI.

Denver and the Mile High Orchestra, made it through with their Big Band/Swing Band sound; from Nashville, TN.

Cliff Wagner and the Ol’ #7, covered “Like a Virgin” with a bluegrass twist; from San Pedro, CA.

Franklin Bridge, serious R&B/soul band; from Philadelphia, PA.

Rocket, an all GIRL punk group; from East Hollywood, CA.

The Likes of You, an established band that has toured with Hall & Oats from Los Angeles, CA.

Lot's of money raised and I believe we finally made some good use of "Wipe Out" (about $250.00 to play it). This could get bigger every year guys.

Ummm...Lawless opted out of this event seven months ago.
The hardy boy claimed in March, they were booked at some brand new country venue out of state.
More recently, they have acquiesced to a "private event" in Beachwood...today their site says it's a "private event" in Cuyahoga Falls.

Gotta ask yourself...why would the top Country band in Cleveland refuse to help raise money for autistic children?

Are you trying to convince everyone that you and many others don't regularly check Laredo's website for something to criticize and didn't notice the postings about the event all over the website? Lastly, YOU post all the local bands schedules (with the exception of the blacklisted Laredo) EVERY WEEKEND. How could YOU not care enough about autistic children to not mention where EIGHT local bands were playing this weekend????????? No. In fact, you didn't mention the event until the next day, when you started spouting criticism (with the exception of a couple fleeting thoughts months ago about who was and wasn't participating - and by the way, Foot DID participate and was a big part of the event's success, in my opinion). Whether or not a band or a fan participated in the showcase was a personal choice and one they had a right to.

I'm not upset anymore. Since Justen is Justen Ass he's not worth it.
Think I'll change my screen name to CraigMorganFan. Love Him. Apparently WGAR does not. They never play any of his songs. Oh yeah they play one.
Ok I'm too lazy to go get another Google account.

I agree that they don't play enough Craig Morgan. And why must they shove Chesney down our throats every 15 minutes? Seems that frequent to me anyway. He's soooo over played and overrated.

Me too. Love WQMX but it's in and out here too. Captain Tony sucks and Michael J. Fox ignores my e-mails. They overplayed that ONE song from Heartland so much I had to turn my radio off when it came on. I liked it at first.....hate it now.

12:50 PM

Eddie Munster (oops, I mean Tony) seems personable enough on the air. Not too crazy about Fox though. If I'm in the car and Chesney comes on, I switch stations.

For simplicity, we'll assume it's a HE. He must still be in a meeting with the SOTS camp counselors. I'm sure we didn't scare him away. They still usually manage to crawl out from under the rock..... He's still trying to come up with something original to post. Hopefully, if he wants to rag on me some more, he'll come up with a FACT or two rather than just spouting off on what he perceives to be accurate. Those voices in his head are giving him bad information.

Re:CCC event

As Production Manager for the event, let me say that 8 bands donated their time and talents for a worthy cause. Many other people donated time and prizes to an organization that was TRULY appreciative of the efforts of the many people who made it all happen.
It's all about helpin out your fellow man in the end who may not be quite as blessed in life as others.
Whether it's once a year, or ten times a year. A splendid time was had by all, bands, fans, dancers and my crew. From all that was done, many kids and their families will benefit from that.
So, if you were there, hope you had fun like the rest of us did. It's quite a task putting on something that big, so to criticize how often in one year one does a specific event, one does NOT know that many of these bands do many other benefits for other causes throughout the year.

We'll do it again next year, you can climb on board and make it bigger and better or you can complain and bitch and knock people for doing things for a good cause. It's your right as it is mine. Try climbing on board and making the world we live in just a little bit better for someone else next year.

Proud to be a part of it..

A+ for Molly. She supported local HLand when it was truly unfashionable. That is a real fan.

I guess I imagined that you initially came on here as the defender of Heartland, then stopped when you realized that view was "unpopular" among the crowd. In the early stages of the blog, the blog community hated Lawless and loved Laredo. John and Steve were the scum of the earth and Todd and Ross were wonderful people and excellent musicians. Then the tide turned. Webster and Hardy made up and Webster and Ross began feuding. And then suddenly, Lawless was awesome, Hardy was your new best friend/birthday buddy, Laredo sucked, and Todd, Ross, and the "SOTS" were the new scum of the earth (I guess you forgot you used to be a "SOT" back before it was a bad thing). And now here we are in a quandry. Webster and Lawless/Hardy have had another falling out. Webster and rubyking have had a falling out. Webster and Laredo are still on the outs. Most recent posts are in criticism of webster. And you've only piped in when the topic was neutral - like the WGAR Super Star contest. From that, I've concluded that you've not yet figured out which bandwagon to jump on next. Oops. Silly me. You jumped on the justen bandwagon! Well, whatever I can do to help, I guess.

Honey...if ya want to two-step down memory lane, that's fine. Let's work together to get the facts straight.

First
Mr. Webster was NOT a SOT, he guested with Laredo, and when a full time position was offered in Dec 05...he declined.
YES folks...it was Dec 05.

Second
The initial fall out between myself and Laredo occurred in April 06 and was over Frank.
The way they treated him, fired him, laughed at him, then mocked him...right up until his death.

Then in May 06, Ross made a GAY slur on the blog. He had the kahunas to pretend that he didn't know I was offended. Ross proceeded to send a flurry of emails with outlandish and contradictory statements.

The final straw was a profanity laden email sent by Todd in August 06...clearly expressing he wanted NOTHING to do with me or the blog. EVER!

The Lawless/JDg saga is complex...and will require more thought.

However...
Let me say this; my fondness and affection for JDg was apparent to ANYONE paying attention.

For the record...
In my last conversation with JDg, he said he understood.
JDg acknowledged "we supported him in his pursuit of his dream...more than anyone".
We exchanged "I love yous"...then JDg took a flying leap off the reality cliff, and the avalanche is still being dealt with.

The difference this go-around; Mr. Webster.

Wow! First, you go running to the camp counselor and come back with a "road boss". First, let's all remember this IS Cleveland and not Nashville. Also, never once did I dispute or question all the hard work that goes into a production. Great job; there is YOUR pat on the back. My comments were only about the reason one band "started" the event: to put themselves on a pedestal and for their own gain and recognition.

Secondly, I have NEVER been a "SOT". I had the misfortune of stepping into a bar on occasion when I didn't pay attention to who was playing. That won't happen again.

Thirdly, I have NO idea what went down between Web & John. AND I don't care because it's none of my business. THAT right there is why I never commented on their "feud" or whatever it is. I like and respect both of them. I tell my daughter all the time not to get involved in sh*t that doesn't concern her but justen felt the need to mock me and bring me into something that is none of my business.

9:42 AM
Blogger Molly said...

Justen, please refer back to a LOT of the initial posts. I never stopped "defending" HL because it was unpopular on this blog. Quite the contrary actually.

I would hardly say Hardy is my new BFF! Comical. I went to see Lawless a few times over the summer and suddenly tongues start wagging. Small minds think like that. Apparently, everyone's lives are SO boring that who I go out to see is newsworthy. As for my birthday, had a great time! Going to do it again soon for another close friend's birthday. OMG! We're goin' to see Lawless! Stop the presses!

NOW, if Lawless is thinking I'm "just a tagalong" and not an actual fan, they can just say the word. Do it in the next week guys so I can change my plans.

Web & Jay are on the outs. So what? Doesn't concern me, I don't know Jay and shocker, I don't know the reasons for that "feud". So why would I comment?

And finally, you WISH I was on your bandwagon, a**hole.

Wow. Seems I was missed yesterday.

molly, you told me to come back with facts, and I did. webster has the archives to prove it. I distinctly remember you warning a fellow Heartland defender once upon a time to not go there, you "learned your lesson". It stuck with me because I know who you are (and yes, I know it's no big secret, so don't bother with all that nonsense). I don't have the time or desire to go looking for it. I'm sure mrs webster could find it quite easily if she really wanted to.

mrs webster, I didn't say mr webster was a SOT, I said molly was. From what I understand, anyone who posts anything that is kind or complimentary (or in defense of) Laredo is labeled a SOT. Actually, there was a time that anyone who had anything negative to say about your posts was labeled a SOT, too - it seems like that "camp" has expanded, hasn't it? Again, if I had the time or desire, I'm sure I could find archived posts to that effect.

I see your attempts to redirect the focus here. This is not about Frank, and to bring him up is pretty disrespectful, if you ask me. As far as that whole situation is concerned, I know what I was told, you know what you were told, and only Frank and Laredo will ever know the truth, regardless of who thinks they were told (or figured out) the truth, so drop it already.

mrs webster, a couple days ago, you accused me of not understanding your point. I got it, loud and clear. You simply wanted to throw some accusations and criticisms at Lawless and anyone associated with the CCC event. You did NOT want anyone to point out that you were guilty of the same behaviors you were admonishing others for. It's been fun to watch you and molly sidestep and change the subject when you've been backed into a corner.

Funny how the internet policy psa's always come out when someone has you on the ropes.

I guess you had a little trouble comprehending my post, Justen. Regarding HL, you stated the words "stopped when you realized that view was 'unpopular' among the crowd". I didn't (and still don't) care how unpopular it was. Please don't make it sound like I stopped defending HL so that maybe, just maybe, people would like me on this blog?? Puhleeze...... Maybe YOU and the little "l" band play those silly teenage (girl) games; I don't.

I'm hardly "side stepping", honey. I didn't change any subjects either. Actually, I tried to comment on as many of your pathetic innuendos as time would allow. Now the voices in your head are making you "see" things if you think I'm backed into any corner. I know I'm not so bring it on. BTW, what did I have for dinner last night? Since my every move is so fascinating to you, please, do tell.

Top of the mornin' to ya.
SO...what did ja do last night?

We stayed home...
Mr. Webster uncorked a bottle of Mondovi Merlot, lit the fireplace, and we curled up in the lazy boys to watch The Next Great American Band.

Hate Hatch.
Mr. Webster favors the 6th grade metal band...Light of Doom.

I predict Sixwire is The Next Great American Band...could be wrong. It happens. LOL!

The bands performed two songs each, first a Bob Dylan cover song, then an original.

Denver and the Mile High Orchestra
“Freight Train Blues”
“One Time Show”.
These guys are GREAT...if ya like the big band thing. NOT The Next Great American Band.

The Hatch
“It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue”
“Stretch Out the Time”
Hate it!

Light of Doom
“All Along the Watchtower”
“Eye of the Storm”
NOT a metal fan, and agree, these tween boys need to wear shirts.

The Likes of You
“Blowin’ in the Wind”
“Love and Gravity”.
Too much falsetto. PERIOD!

Rocket
“Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door”
“Mean to You”
All girl punk band...sorta liked “Mean to You”. LOL!

Cliff Wagner and the Ol’ #7
“Don’t Think Twice,it’s All Right”
“Old Fire”
Very rockabilly cool.
Personally, I am NOT gonna get too attached to these guys.
They are awesome...but will win the hearts and minds about as well as we have won the hearts and minds in Iraq.

The Muggs
“Meet Me in the Morning” and some original that sounded just like “Meet Me in the Morning”.
Their audition was better.
The lead singer is hideous.
They could be headed back to the Motor City very very soon.

The Clark Brothers
“Maggie’s Farm”
“Billy the Kid”.
Cutie pie Christians.

Tres Bien!
“Subterranean Homesick Blues”
“Easy to Love Me”
Vintage rock...and we love them!

Franklin Bridge
“Tangled Up in Blue”
“Incredible”.
These guys are ALL THAT and could take the whole enchilada from Sixwire.

Dot Dot Dot
“Like a Rolling Stone”
“Another Stupid Love Song”
I don’t know...what you think?

Sixwire
“Mr. Tambourine Man”
“Good to Be Back”
My favorite.
Radio ready...hope they do “From the Ashes” soon. Check out the tune on my MySpace.

Cleveland is POOR. No longer the MOST poverty stricken and unemployed...but still poor.

The clubs are struggling with increased costs and loss of patronage.

NO club cares that you have added expenses to your own bottom line.
NO one cares you have added a steel guitar and a sound guy.

Following the storming of Wolstein Center, Lawless will embark on their ACE's tour.

So...for like months, Lawless attempted to convince folks they had an arena gig.
More recently, they acquiesced to the truth. They were the entertainment for the Baron's Ball.

So...for like months, Lawless refused the ACE's gigs.
The hardy boy SAID they were beyond Ace's...it was beneath them.
I swear, he said this!

Look for Lawless to schlep between the ACE's at least four times in November.
