Dialed up Ernie last night. He was headed to a jam night. Generally, he is in good spirits and optimistic. He has hooked up with a couple of friends and might even have found a roomate.

Chatted with Ernie again last night. Our conversations go something like this...

What have you accomplished on "the list" ? He says "nothing". I say "Ernie, ya need a plan or ya are gonna rum amuck". He agrees, and then we start the list again.

Last night, I told him, I would have to call more frequently to keep him on task.

Personally, I am rooting for him. Others are NOT, regardless of what they say or said to him before he left. I can think of two folks right off the top of me head that would like to see him fail.

Did I mention...that I was unemployed?
It sucks!!!

Long story...line of credit frozen, loss of clients due to loss of personal wealth, and CEO crisis.

With the unusally high unemployment, securing a new position has turned into a contest circus.

HR managers are deluged with upwards of a 100 resumes for every position that opens up. Who reads a 100 cover letters? NOBODY!

My #1 IRK...positons posted internally and published at the same time. What a waste of resources...money and time.

My next IRK...a lack of follow up by potential employers. Your resume goes into cyber hell, and it doesn't appear anyone is willing to tell ya they have received your documents.

My bookstart is on the back burner...again!

A federal lawsuit has been filed against Rascal Flatts, their producers and record label.

The BEEF is that the first 17 seconds of their song 'No Reins' is too similar to a song written for Pat Benatar....Shadows of the Night.

Ernie update

Spoke with him on Thursday, he had just moved into his apartment.

Funny to me...he moved to Nashville with 1 fork, 1 spoon, 1 bowl, and 1 plate. Boys!

No flashlight, or bandaids...maybe he was never a Boy Scout.

I tried to introduce him to the wonder of Goodwill...don't think he's going there.

He won't have computer access for a couple of more days, unless he schleps to the library.

Ya would think my house would be immaculate...it isn't.

Busy with the JOB serach...and all the nonesense that goes on with it.
Gotta tell ya, being unemployed sucks.

I finally reset a password and got the correct email for blogging. I bet you're tickled pink I'm able to blog again. I'm sure people still check this blog (I know I do), waiting for some kind of thread to pursue (or hide from). Just seems sad to me that the "country" scene is in a funk in this area. The CBro's have very few places to play where you can get away with all an country show and keep the crowd interested and dancing. It seems worse than the downslide we experienced in the mid & late 90's. It picked up at the turn of the millennium and I hope it does again. Soon ! I'm sure the economy has a lot to do with it, but I am curious to know if anyone else notices the musical change around here. If you are a regular at Mustang Salliz, I'm sure you probably think everything is just fine. Time was not too long ago you had at least a half dozen of venues that featured and welcomed all country shows from local bands, all within a 30 mile radius.
Not anymore.
As for Ernie - I wish him the best. He is a great guy and a phenomenal talent. If anyone in N-Ville is in need of great bassist and singer, they won't go wrong with him. True professional.
